My wife's fiat 50 needed a replacement swing arm bush and was quoted 160 plus labour,they later charged us around 400 down to seasing of bolts and added around an hour to labour. After consulting with a mechanic in newmilton I was quoted for two swing arm replacements. One for a basic replacement and another for a special if the car needed it. The car did not. But the price would have been no more then 280. I would hate to think what they would have attempted to charge us if they said the car needed a special replacement. Absolutely discussed with this level or treatment to people in a stressful time of need, looking for help and advice. do not recommend.
Had MOT done on my BMW.went to pay bill and was overcharged buy £31 I am a self-taught mechanic and had the vehicle pre MOT'd everything was checked prior to MOT mechanic told me he had to top up water and windscreen fluid this did not need doing as I have done it day before also told me he had to take the car for a drive to warm it up. as MOT testers will tell you they leave the carcto warm up to get up to temperature before MOT and so was a total scam do not recommend.????????
Pier Garage is run by real mechanics making a living out of their love and expertise of Renault vehicles (and lots of others). They are old school in that they care about what they are doing and out of necessity they have to charge for their time. If you want a modern, fast, fixed price service then go to a Renault Showroom/Service/Dealer. If you want real people who care about what they do and how satisfied you are then go here.
Use to take our family car here for convenience but the bills were always on the high-side. Brakes never cost less than £450 for replacement pads and they never lasted more than 10,000 Miles. (Since had done for £60 elsewhere). Then took new 2nd-hand station car (Nissan Micra, cost £450) there for a service. Bill was £1,250 with no phone call to pre-approve. Absolute crooks - will never go there again! Have since heard similar stories esp. work that didn't need doing

absolute joke of a garage. Over 1000 pounds for an mot!! and used 300 pounds worth of oil even though a new sump was supplied. complete rip off. stay well clear. They are theives
Very helpful and organised. Probably not the cheapest place to use but have a good local reputation as an independent garage with a knowledgeable backdrop so well worth contacting
Priced £420 for water pump, day light robbery stay well clear. Got it done at Hythe for £220
