Very clean shop and very polite staff. I had a lunch time special. Pudding, chips, peas and gravy all for £3.99. The food was hot and very tasty, great value. The best chip shop I have been for a while in Cheshire.
We have used Phil’s famous chippy since we moved to this area eighteen months ago.
What a find always first class cooked to order fish and chips.
In addition an extensive menu with discounted imaginative meal deals.

Second time we’ve tried this chip shop. Unfortunately very disappointed with the size of the chip portion both times. Usually can get at least 2/3 good size portions out of a large chips from other chip shops but from here the large chip portion wasn’t enough for 2 of us.
Moved to Congleton over a year ago now and must have spent at least 4 months going between chips shops looking for that perfect one. I’m happy to say Phil’s Famous Chippy is that perfect one, chips are always on point and the famous chicken curry is sensational! Phil will always strike up a conversation and cater to your every need with well reasonably priced food. I personally highly recommend the chicken curry and the pineapple fritter!

Huge thank you to Phil for cooking us food from fresh after the shop had closed this evening. We really appreciated the kindness, but genuinely rate the food as 5 star because it was lovely. Not just because it was after closing time! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend the fish and Pukka pies. Also the friendly advice and chat about Congleton. As Phil says, it's a village, not an anonymous town.
Called and ordered food. Said it will be 15 mins, arrived late (30mins). Food had not even been started so walked out.
Been here many times where there’s a queue and only takes one order at a time and cooks it whilst you’re waiting so you’re waiting sometimes for nearly an hour.
Needs to hire more staff and focus on the customers instead of only caring about money.
Lovely food. Good size portions. Nice owner. 1st time customers, we'll definitely be back. It would be worth travelling the extra miles from home knowing that you are going to get great food and value for money. ????
