Great cosy pub with real food, a real fire and a real dog. Well worth the 5 hour drive for a pint???? They also have pool & darts if you're the athletic type.
Called into this pub last weekend while staying in the area. When we arrived the pub was closed but we decided to sit in the beer garden for a bit and wait for it to open. The landlady came and opened the pub for us and let us in early. She was happy to serve drinks and before turning on the lights. Great service, good beer and good food. Lovely homely atmosphere with plenty of games and a nice hot fire!!
Fantastic warm welcome from the owners Jim and Sara and lovely atmosphere. All staff members are really lovely. The seventeenth century charm of this superb place is being restored. Prices are excellent. Thoroughly recommend this Inn.
The service is friendly, the beer is great, and the food was delicious.
We stayed in the accommodation as well for the weekend, and it was far better than any hotel I have stayed in. So clean and prestine. Can't wait to see it in the summer and really get to appreciate the surrounding countryside that this beautiful pub sits in. All I can say is.... Miss it, miss out.
We were staying at an Airbnb down the road and visited for a meal. Unfortunately they were not serving that day so just stayed for a drink and a game of darts. Nice place and landlady was welcoming. Recommended
Warm, friendly welcome. Great selection of beers and spirits (including a special Gin bar). Lovely accommodation. Attractive beer garden. Scenic.
A very welcoming and cozy place, the perfect starting point for straight line missions across the country.
One of the rooms is very atmospheric and the lady behind the bar was was very pleasant but it is difficult to know when the pub is going to be open as it varies.
