Quite a while since I last visited Penrith. Time has not been kind to the town. Many of the shops are closed and empty, even in the recently built areas of the town. Penrith used to be one of the main shopping locations in Cumbria, alas it is now badly run down and neglected. Not worth a visit these days.

What a strange area this is. It could and should be a thriving shopping area, but it's filled when empty units! However, you're OK if you need Sports Direct!!!

The absolute best cafe I've ever used. Sorry I didn't take photos of the food but my days! Had the brunch, must have been a full tin of peas on that plate, at least 20 mushrooms, Cumberland sausage, 1/4lb burger(basic type), huge piece of bacon, perfect egg, stunning chips too. Way to much to eat and I'm 18 stone! We always stop off here when we visit Penrith. The pot of tea is huge and the staff super polite and efficient. Clean cafe but they do allow dogs in which personally I don't agree with(and I'm a dog lover).
All in all you need to nip in to break up your shopping trip. Can't rate these guys enough.
