The place looks like its seen better days and an unfriendly welcome wasn't a great start or the woman isn't the best in mornings ????
The prices were fair but the sausage rolls we got were not nice at all ???? some weird sausage meat/paste in them I'll tell the. The nearest bin we found was their resting place.
Don't think I'd bother again to be honest as we sussed out there was a Greg's as we were heading out of Ambleside.
Rude. Rude. Rude. Made us feel like an inconvenience for wanting to buy something. Don't take card payments, which is fine, but they didn't have any change (at 10am when the shop just opened) so when trying to pay the lady snapped 'well I'm going to have to close the shop now'. Just seemed like she can't be bothered to run a shop properly. We decided not to buy anything so that she could stay open and be rude to more tourists. Avoid, not worth the hassle.
Sorry would not normally write a bad review but feel so strongly about the 2 pork pies I bought today that were inedible. The pork was like sawdust and had to spit out it was so bad. Maybe you have changed supplier but VERY disappointed and would not recommend anyone purchasing from here.

Hands down the best bacon, sausage and egg roll I have ever had the pleasure of eating and only £2.90. A must.
We stayed in Ambleside recently and visited Peggy’s the sausage rolls and meat and potato pasties were the best ever, will definitely go again and recommend a visit for great food.
*TOURISTS BEWARE* Sold OLD STALE bread which was slipped from under the counter to this unsuspecting customer. Turned green overnight. LOCALS will get the good stuff. Don't get played by the oldest trick in the book 'The old Switcheroo' game. TESCO Express is nearby use that instead.
Good to find a privately owned bakery. Had a very good ham salad sandwich at a reasonable price, considering the location.
