What a quaint little discovery - great for a much needed catch up with a friend. I can imagine it's very popular with cyclists along the route :)
A very friendly place for a coffee or tea. The cakes are fantastic and not to be missed.

A little gem in the heart of the village.
I've visited the tea room several times now and always get a warm welcome.
In winter it's lovely to sit inside, by the wood burner and in the warmer weather the courtyard is a little oasis to sit and enjoy a light lunch, coffee and, of course, a delicious slice of homemade cake.
My dog was even given some little dog biscuits and made to feel very welcome.
The tea room also sells crafts from local people and I've picked up some lovely little presents for family and friends and even one or two for myself.
If you like cake, then pear tree tearoom must be on your list to visit.

The cake was delicious and the latte was fantastic,lovely and hot and in a generous sized mug

We tested the majority of refreshment stops on the Hadrian's Wall Path, this is the best. Homemade treats, extra water with your pot of tea, dog and baby friendly, a wonderful friendly atmosphere. Treat yourself before you embark on your adventure or celebrate your achievement!

Found this little gem by chance. Had tea and cakes in courtyard in glorious sunshine. Fabulous homemade cakes and freshly brewed tea. Service excellent we will definitely be back and bring friends.
Great Guiness cake but small portion. Great coffee but Lady was rushing us to make a decision about our order. However what Bryan and I found strange..and a little rude..was that the lady put a reserved from 12pm sign on our table when she served us..which only gave us 1/2 hour to stay! This was with every table in the place free!
