This was my second visit to the restaurant after its refurbishment, and the fresh new look was quite appealing. Surprisingly, despite its popularity in the neighborhood, it wasn't very busy during my visit. I was there with friends and we had a lovely time catching up. The host was gracious, allowing us to enjoy our evening without feeling rushed. We sampled a variety of food and drinks, but unfortunately, the quality of the dishes didn't meet my expectations. The tempura prawns seemed frozen, lacking freshness, while the carpaccio was warm and under-seasoned. The presentation of the parmigiana could have been better. The main courses were equally disappointing: the monkfish was excessively salty and overcooked, the spaghetti bolognese sauce was heavy, and the chicken was burnt on the outside. The lamb chops were decent, but not exceptional. Dessert was passable, although it could have been more artfully presented. On a positive note, the hospitality was delightful, and the host added to the enjoyment of the evening.
I recently visited and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing due to their poor service. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that the staff was not very attentive or friendly.
Firstly, it took a long time for someone to even acknowledge my presence and seat me at a table. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and unenthusiastic about their job. Once I was seated, it took another 15 minutes for someone to come take my order. I had to wave down a passing server just to get their attention.
To make matters worse, my food took over 45 minutes to arrive and when it finally did, it was cold and not cooked properly. When I asked for it to be reheated, the server seemed annoyed and took it back to the kitchen without even apologizing. By the time my food came back, my appetite was completely ruined.
Throughout my meal, my server rarely checked on me and seemed more focused on chatting with their coworkers. I had to ask for a refill on my drink multiple times before actually receiving it. When it was time to pay, I had to wait another 20 minutes for someone to bring me the bill.
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was also quite chaotic and unorganized. I could see other customers getting frustrated with the slow service and some even left without finishing their meals.
What a horrible experience - you could not pay me to go back!
Not impressed at all.
Booked a table for 5 girl friends for our Christmas get together in October for mid December. When we turned up the waiters barely acknowledged us, after speaking with him to say we have a table booked they said it’s not ready do you want to get a drink. We replied no because there wasn’t actually any space to sit and have a drink there and we had just come from the pub opposite. We said we would wait on the side until table was ready. After feeling quite in the way for 5 minutes we asked how long they thought the table was going to be and the waiter replied saying they can’t say. We then obviously said we were going to leave and try to find somewhere else to eat to which they appeared to not care that much and was happy to see us out.
Considering we booked the table so far in advance this was really poor customer service. And the way they spoke to us and just dismissed us when we enquired how long it would be is just not on at all.
Fantastic service, food, value. A great night out. I thoroughly recommend.
Lovely food, slightly pricey but definitely worth it. Such friendly staff and a lovely cosy atmosphere. You don't feel like you're down brook parade!
Great place, went there for a Birthday meal, and it was fantastic, gorgeous food, live music and dancing all night long , great evening.
Can't beat this place. I come here throughout the year as you know what you're going to get. Food is delicious, and the staff are brilliant. Recommend.
Love this place, food is amazing staff are are always welcoming, addicted to the melanzana, the chicken limone, and the tiramisu ????????
