All pizzas are made by hand infront of you by friendly and welcoming staff. Everything is fresh. Tomatoes all cut on the day, herbs sourced locally, based made by the same people who make the wonderful bread you see being sold in town in the chirico bakery van.
This is a small and friendly independent family run pizzeria that produces some of the very best traditional Italian style pizzas that I've ever tasted. Sizes range from 9inches up to massive party pizzas and are excellent value for money with good quality fresh ingredients. I can't speak to how good the delivery services since it's only five minutes walk from me. I would recommend Pizzeria Chirico to anyone who enjoys a good pizza.
Without doubt this is one of the best kept secrets in Bedford. I've been buying my pizza there for 15 years and now make the trip down to chirico from Northampton. The family size pizzas are great value.love it.
Best pizza in Bedford been a customer for years, haven't been let down once. Also try the home made bread they made behind the pizza shop, delicious.
Since Enrico and his mother sandina decided to betray the memory of amadeo and employ polish folk the bread is bad just isent edible thear is a polish women thear who doesn't understand Italian and only remedial English she told me she had been heer 12 years and she can hardly speak a lick of inglish si vergonia
Very good pizza and bakery! Authentic and priced competitively. Would regard it as a hidden gem.
Lovely pizza. No frills, no fuss, just on-point. Would go again.
Bedford has a thriving Italian community, and a work colleague suggested that I try Pizzeria Chirico (I'm a bit of a foodie, you might say!) This small shop is tucked away down a side street about 5 minutes from the centre of Bedford and opens Wednesday - Sunday 5pm - 11pm (this info is on the menu, and I'd tried a couple of times to go previously, but it was always closed.)
The pizza here is excellent, all doughs, pastes and sauces are made on the premises. The flavours are very different to your run-of-the-mill takeaways like Domino's and Perfect Pizza, Chirico's pizza's are how I imagine pizza tastes in Italy. Classic combinations like the Margherita (cheese and tomato) are here of course, as are the Quattro Stagioni (four seasons) combination of tomatoes, mozzarella, mushrooms, ham, pepperoni sausage and oregano. Then there are the less well known Pugliese (probably originating from the Puglia region of Italy) which contains egg, onions and grated parmesan cheese.
You won't find crazily named pizzas endorsed by cartoon characters or advertising the latest TV talent show. Instead, you'll be treated to tasty, honest , authentic Italian pizza, cooked with passion and integrity that cannot fail to impress. Go give 'em a try, I promise you won't be disappointed!
