Best KPortal Reviews

Perfect meal for 9 of our party. The food was excellent and at a reasonable price as the quality of cooking was of a high standard. Food is locally sourced. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. It was a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to hurry our meal. I would highly recommend the Pack horse Inn.
Visited here due to the previous reviews. I had the special prawn masala and have to say it was very nice.
Served quickly and friendly staff.
Will look to come again.
(Only downside was by the door and on a very cold night, but that can’t be helped, try and get a seat by the fires ????)
This was our second visit and the food was amazing. The staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be going back there again. 5 star food and service
Visited on a Saturday on my way back from Midsomer Norton to Tavistock. I wanted to find a place to eat before joining the motorway. The first place I stopped at did not do food, Onwards and came across The Packhorse Inn, it was getting towards 2 o'clock when most pubs stopped serving for the afternoon. I am so glad I found this place. Ordered a steak and ale pie. Two other customers came in later, and although food was no longer being served, they made some sandwiches, especially for them. In the meantime, I was enjoying the best ever steak and ale pie I have ever had. It came with chips and peas. The filling was jam-packed and tasty. It was described as a Desperate Dan pie on arrival. (If you know, you know! Old like me!) I ate it all, and it certainly filled a gap, that's for sure. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive. Although it was quiet, I feel the service would have been the same if it was busy. All in all, a nice experience.
We really like this pub in the village where we live. The owners are really nice and welcoming and the pub environment is super clean and has two open fires. The food is really fantastic and everything is home made and cooked to an amazing standard. The presentation of the food was like a picture from a cookery book and the flavours of the two dishes we had were really out of this world. The lamb shank was perfect and the game pie was really packed with meat which was really tender and not overly gamey. Both dishes are really worth a try if available.
My Wife's Tanqueray Sevilla Orange Gin (x2) really made her day and I tried both the Guiness options - standard (x1) and extra cold (x2). I had to go for a bike ride to burn off the calories but they were some of the best calories that I've been fortunate enough to acquire. We can't recommend this pub highly enough and we are lucky to live so near to it. PS There is also a nice courtyard to sit in and we enjoyed that when it was warmer weather in the summer.
Fantastic food. Excellent service. Warm and inviting hosts with an open fire and a "local country pub" atmosphere.
We will be returning.
Four of us had lunch on 16th November. Greeted with a warm welcome and asked if we'd like a drink while we waited for our friends. A lovely chat while we waited. The moussaka was superb followed by an excellent ginger pudding with custard.
Had two meals here now, both were absolutely lovely. Staff are super polite and attentive.
Definitely a family feel to the place, food was excellent on both occasions, would highly recommend.
