Best fish and chips we've had in years!! The batter on the fish is how I expect it to be but hardly ever is...lovely and crisp. Friendly staff too. Can't believe how many times I've driven past over the years and never been before. Can't wait to return 10/10 ????

On my first visit here several years ago I overheard a customer in front saying they come from Manchester for fish and chips here. I was thinking that I've heard it was good but that's commitment! Well, its been one of my firm (and pretty much only fish and chip shop) since! Generous portions, freshly made, great service which feels genuinely warm. You don't often feel you can say much about fish and chips - but when you need something a little more - this is more.

Really poor. Ordered fish cake thinking it’d be a proper Yorkshire fish cake, we received a deep fried/cremated round thing that looked like it might once have been a fish cake. It tasted as bad as it looked. The fish was equally over cooked and none of the 5 portions of chips had salt or vinegar on them - despite asking for them - pretty disappointing for the child who only had chips! Apparently the pie was ok so not a complete all round disaster. We spent almost £30, waited 30mins and it really wasn’t worth it. Most of it went into the bin.

Not just a chippy but an excellent one, the fish ???? was beautiful, will be back soon.

Ordered food at a very reasonable price and waited in car until ready. Member of staff brought the food out to the car for us. Wow unbelievable fish and chips proper traditional even wrapped in newspaper the best I have tasted in over 20 years. Couldn't recommend this place any higher absolute ????

A friend recommended this fish shop to me. She said they were the best around, and she wasn't wrong!

At present, they are taking orders at the front door. They may have their reasons for that. I don't know.

But I wouldn't want to be inside a fish shop in this hot weather.

My haddock& chips tasted just like they used to when I was a young girl.

There are very few places that can cook UK's national dish nowadays, and it's for that reason that I hardly eat them.

But, I’ll definitely be returning here.

3stars for service as you are not allowed in the building for some reason so have to stand out in all weathers whilst you wait for your food, but once you have your fish and chips they are the best in Yorkshire

Avoid

30 min wait for fish and chips from a chip shop even though only one waiting and it was a soggy mess when arrived.
