We have been using oriental chef in Southgate for years but tonight was the last time. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken balls and the pot of sauce they sent him was minuscule and half empty where they usually send a polystyrene pot. He called them to ask if they could send a larger one and they were very dismissive and refused point blank to send another one. So now he has chicken balls with no sauce. Very disappointing!
I last came to the place a few years ago. Food used to be good but now not so good. Ordered Singapore noodles to eat in with a coke and was charged £1.70 to eat in! Won’t be visiting again. For the £10 I spent I should have had a tasty burger from Burger King or gone to Honeymoon restaurant.
This restaurant is unhygienic, staff are extremely rude and dismissive! The food tastes disgusting so please be aware that if you make a complaint you will not get a good customer service, instead you will get very rude and disrespectful responses, try and see please.
Only a “1” for hygiene… they used to be good years ago and had 4/5.. then I remember at one point they even had 0! Seriously, gross to have 1 for hygiene and other people below saying they use dirty water to clean woks etc. given prices and staff I hope they sort themselves out and get proper hygiene improvements. I won’t be going back !
Once my favourite Chinese takeaway, I would regularly walk in and pick up sweet & sour chicken balls with mushroom rice......tonight no sweet & sour sauce!?! As a regular customer who actually collects in person I feel really let down.Doubtlessly a mistake , I will never visit again.
Terrible food! Horrendous customer service! I told them that there was a hair in the food but they started to get defensive and abusive even suggested it was my hair but I’m bald! Absolutely will not be ordering from you again
This is our preferred Chinese takeaway and we've been coming here for many years ( did try others but still prefer this one). We always order via phone & the service has always been fantastic, food arrived within reasonable time and delivery drivers have all been great. Overall, food has been reasonably good, there has been one incident previously when a Singapore vermicelli dish did not come up to scratch ( my usual favourite in any Chinese restaurant), but it was a one off and in my next order, it was back to my expectations. My kids usually has MacDonalds whilst us adults order a Chinese, now they like the Chinese too.... which is making our takeout that more expensive :) but still i would recommend this place and it will continue to be our favourite local Chinese takeaway .
Best chinese restaurant ever! I always come here with my girlfriend to get the oriental house noodles as i am a regular they always know our orders in a specific way and it makes me happy that they always put love into food & work, well done to all the chefs there for making the delicious food for everyone.
