The food was so delicious but a bit on the pricey side that’s why I am only giving it 3/5 for the food. But the atmosphere, sitting and the decorations all are stunningly beautiful! Everyone should give Orchard Park Cafe visit tho if you’re coming to Gillingham (Dorset).
Wholly disappointed. Give it a miss and go to the wonderful staff at Waitrose café.
Booked a table 2 weeks ago for 8 people, well in advance, for cream teas in the afternoon celebrating the 80th birthday of my grandmother.
Nothing left back for this booking and when we confronted the manager about this, they argued there was a table booked the day before for 8 people that didn't show up. Absolute lie as this was doubly and triple checked with someone over the phone.
Booked a table 2 weeks ago for afternoon tea for my mums birthday, we were all very disappointed with the service, they had nothing left for us, we only wanted cream teas there were no scones left and no cheese scones. We asked to speak to the manager she told us a table had been booked for 8 people on the Friday 3rd May but apparently no one turned up! That's because they had got the wrong date and tried to make it look like it was our fault. When the table was booked it was made sure that they had got the right booking for the right day.
Will never be returning to this place, it upset my mum, luckily waitrose café came up trumps, we shall be using them in future.
OK, but slightly pricey on the plant front. The garden center elements are quite expensive and you can get most things there. However avoid the cafe for anything more than tea/coffee and perhaps a slice of cake. Most hot foods will eventually be served cold after you've had a long wait. The overall experience isn't a good one. Top tip, for food try The Filling Station on Station Rd. For a good range of plants try Plant World just north of Gillingham... great prices too.
Very disappointing this time we had booked a table for cream teas when we ordered there was nothing left on the menu so we went somewhere else which was excellent service at waitrose and last minute notice, very nice staff. We will not be returning to orchard park for the cafe or shopping for plants

Diabolical service. Rude arguementive staff who were were not willing to assist us in YOUR booking mistake. Left feeling incredibly angry and disappointed. Avoid at all costs.
Absolutely awful, had a table booked for today, go in and they say they’re out of literally everything, staff were not helpful and were insistent that it was us that booked it wrong for the day before when we checked three times, we were absolutely appalled with the customer service, my grandma only wanted to spend her 80th birthday there for a nice cream tea, we will not be blamed for their mistakes and absolutely awful attitude!!!
The food is fine but nothing special and certainly not good value for the price. It's okay if you're going to the garden centre anyway but other nearby garden centres have much higher quality cafes attached to them
