Took my Alfa 159 to Optima Motors as it was smoking, knocking and running rough.
After several weeks of investigation, Nick came to the conclusion I needed a pair of replacement injectors and a new fuel pressure sensor. I agreed and these were fitted to my car and apparently all the issues were resolved.
I collected my car and drove home, however within a couple of miles the issues are returned. Once I got home I had a closer look at my car and noticed a few other issues:
Firstly, my engine cover have been broken, then stuck back together. Nick denied this had happened, but after several weeks agreed to replace it. It had no damage when I dropped the car off.
The Pressure sensor- I was charged the retail price of £120 for a new sensor, however upon closer Nick had fitted a second hand part! When challenged, Nick held his hands up and replaced the item with a new one.
The plastic housing over the injector electrical supplies had gone missing. Nick found it in his workshop, but could not explain why it was left off my vehicle.
I questioned Nick as to whether or not my injectors had been correctly programmed, he stated yes. However upon inspection at another specialist garage, it turns out they had not been programmed at all. In addition to this they had the incorrect seals fitted to them!
When I revisited the garage to collect my replacement engine cover Nick was very aggressive and shown a great deal of animosity towards me, angry at the fact I had left a negative post on his Facebook page. This was due to the fact Nick would not call me back or respond over the phone.
In the end I had to take my car elsewhere to be repaired, as Nick’s efforts made no difference to the running issues.
All in all, Nick is a dishonest and untrustworthy individual, so I recommend you avoid this one!

Been a customer of Nick & Darren for about 18 years with all sorts of cars. They will fit you in at a moment's notice and not charge the earth. Would recommend.
Optima is one of the best Garages I have ever had dealings with in 50 years of Car ownership.
Nick and his guys are not only very knowledgeable on most cars especially Fiats and Alfas, but Optima is a genuine “Old school” garage, meaning he will give you an honest opinion/diagnoses, and he would never dream of taking advantage of this knowledge to extract more dosh from you, (see below).
Over the last 15 years, I’ve lost count of the number of times, he has helped me and the rest of my family and friends, with his expertise and advice, sometimes I’ve had to force him to take to take something for it.
In other words, that very rare garage, were help and service, come before money.
Compare this approach to my recent experience with a local Fiat Main Dealers………….
I HAD to take my latest car to the main dealers, because it was only 2 1/2 years, and still under warranty, because it kept cutting out (its diesel!!), and then throwing up a bunch of random fault messages,
It took their “experts” and shiny- trousered service managers, a year ,countless visits and £1000,( at £100 an hour) with the car being undriveable for most of that year NOT TO FIND OR SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
In desperation, took it to Nick, who was sure, after a quick look that it was an electrical fault not Sensor/computer.
Took it to another Fiat dealer, under warranty, who fixed the problem, a faulty ignition switch.
BTW, never even got an apology from the Main Dealers, for the £1000 it cost not to solve the problem.
So Compare and contrast my two experiences and decide who you want to use.
