We were over from Leeds, visiting family. After an early morning set off, we were in need of a breakfast butty. Not many options north side of Brid. We all had fabulous butties, Sausage, Bacon and Spam (square). Very generous and lovely bread.
Awful place, aggressive staff, rotten food. I wish I could give zero stars.
The boiled egg had a grey yolk, the ham was shiny with a grey tinge in places and smelt off, the coldslaw fizzed when it touched the tongue and tasted bad. It just looked and smelt wrong. Most of it was pickled from a jar and the so called fresh items may have been fresh at some point but not any longer.
There were other people waiting for their food so I waited until they had left so I wouldn't embarrass the man behind the counter as he seemed quite welcoming to begin with but that all changed when I took the salad back in to the counter. I attempted to explain what was wrong but he became quite defensive and aggressive in his tone. He proceeded to rip off a lid from a different tub of coldslaw to show me it was still in date and that I was lying, there was nothing wrong with it and that he had never had a complaint in 7 years, before telling me to leave his premises. I was at the counter to pay for the drink and sandwiches we had had as there were 3 of us, but he shouted that we were just looking for a free meal and told us to get out. He continued to shout at us, and be intimidating as we walked away. I will never go back. Horrible experience.

Friendly and happy owner who runs the place, always asks how I've been, how my day's going, I don't use any other sandwich shops/cafes in the whole of bridlington and I've been to the majority of them too, On A Roll is hands down the place to go

I star is even too good for this place, I came in with my children and nana who has dementia the lady who works behind the counter tuted as we didn't know what we all wanted straight away, the man then come out straight after and sighed and just looked at us all until we was ready to order that made us all feel very uncomfortable and we don't expect to be treated that way when eating out. The man then shouted at my nana and son just because they turned around on the swivel chairs to talk to me when asking him politely not to speak to my 5 year old child like that and my nana with dementia he then raised his voice aggressively and said I suggest you out them drinks back and get out... Will definitely nor recommend this place to anyone AVOID.
Lovely warm welcome and very obliging. I had bacon and tomato panning hubby had bacon sarni both delicious. Good prices. Will definately be returning

This is not possibly, it is the best roll shop in bridlington, when we come down from the Scottish Isles we are on his doorstep at 9am, my favorite being the bacon and egg, and hers the tuna with salad , they are massive, in the fridge is the best millionaire shortbread, I know during these austere times you should not be eating millionaire shortbread, you should cut back to custard creams , but think of it as a taste of the life you deserve, and the staff/owner are friendly and knowledgeable and always in a good mood.
