I'm comparing this to the Old Swan of many years ago, but this place has changed for the worse.
Friendly service but beer was foul and overly gassy. Music was insanely loud for a deserted bar. The few people there chose to sit in the freezing cold in the yard rather than damage their hearing inside. Several customers turned around and left a soon as they walked in.
A lot of effort has been made to make it more welcoming, there is a lovely area outside down some steps that l didn't know existed, we had some lovely cocktails served in a teapot????.
Hidden away, this little gaff is sound, good selection of pints, a pool table, and a old school racing game no one has ever won ever
Nice wee pub. Really friendly staff. Few pints and pool. Had a good night out. Don't agree with there no thrash music though ???? but I suppose it's not everyone's cup of tea????

What a charming place with service of a 5 star hotel never mind the local pub. Great prices, lovely beer and non stop banter from the great staff. 5 star all the way

Having had an extensive refurbishment this place is now one of nicest places in town! Great atmosphere, cocktails, and the staff are so lovely, highly recommended!
