Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Large portion sizes. Fish is nice and fresh with a lovely crispy batter. Delicious chunky chips and their 1/4 pounders are tasty too. Will try their roasted chicken next time I go. Very friendly service too. Would definitely recommend. 10/10
Staff are great and always friendly. I just find the chips are hit and miss. Sometimes they can be fresh and taste so good and creamy and other times you get the hollowed out kind that don't taste that great to me. If they can change that then it would be an easy 5 stars from me ????
Bought 3 meals from Northgate Fish bar as a lunch time treat due to us moving. Service was excellent and all the staff were pleasant and friendly. Food was great, we all enjoyed our meals (plenty of chips for small portions), and considering the current climate with the cost of living I have to say the cost for the 3 meals was very reasonable.
The first thing I noticed was how spotlessly clean and tidy everything was and the food portions were very generous and the fish, chips and mushy peas tasted fabulous! A great place to go for a filling and tasty take away. Thank you, guys.
Exceptional. Best fish & chips I’ve had, let alone in Crawley. Tried as my usual was closed at 2pm and chose this one due to the Google reviews and with a 4.9/5.0 rating it was not wrong. Excellent portion size (large!) freshly cooked, customer service 5/5. This will be my new regular!
I don’t normally do reviews but had to say these were literally the best fish & chips Iv had in a long time! I had cod bites and chips and they were perfect. Really friendly staff and reasonably priced!
We just love family businesses dedicated to keeping prices reasonable and quality high; the family who runs Northgate FB is right on point! We had 2.5 hr spare layover hrs after passport control, at Gatwick so took the train over to Crawley to have a look at find some tasty Fnchips, we were not disappointed. I would go back again in a heart beat!
When we arrived into Crawley we were stuck as the FnC shops were all a bit of a walk from towncenter mall so we asked 2 police officers & they both recommended Northgate, said its 3blocks behind their station and their station orders from there all the time cuzz its excellent( good enough recommend for me as officers know every business & want to eat good everyday to break their dedious work) , and said to be careful care because a ..” large fish n chip is quite a lot of food!”
Northgate is a 15min walk thru the town & a nice local neighborhood. There’s also a bus that runs right by it( the #100) that goes straight back to Gatwick ( the nice chip owner said to take that back to Gatwick as the bus is only 10-12min direct vs train waiting).
So we ordered 1 large cod fish n chip 10.90£????, then waited as the 2 sons cooked it to order; the Dad (Aria) completed the QC check then filled the order…which came in a large long box the size of 2 cigaret cartons!
The chips were OMG perfectly golden crisp & the huge cod, big crispy perfection..all not oily nor hint of fried greasy oil…we ate it while walking back to the train stop & the box( in cold windy March) kept everything warm & non soggy.
This family chip shop…is worthy of the trip fr Gatwick for us, we will return the next time, I hope they keep operating that shop full stop!
