We stayed in the Park View B&B and we were told that the chippy across the road was highly recommended. Well it was 1 of the best fish and chips we've tasted in a long while. Staff were polite and the portions were absolutely amazing and priced very reasonable for a decent portion.
We would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Scarborough. We will definitely be back for our favourite fish and chips soon ????
Visiting Family in Scarborough for the first time they told us how great the fish and chips are here... North Bay didn't disappoint.
Forever being underwhelmed by our southern chippies, helped us appreciate how magnificent these fish and chips were, wonderful texture with a fab taste.... looking forward to our next visit.
We were recommended to get there before the doors open and we were glad we did, as the queue soon started to form.
Was recommended here by a fellow fish and chip fiend and it didn’t disappoint. One of the best haddock and chips I’ve had in ages. Everything seemed cooked to order, chips were cooked in dripping, crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, haddock was probably the best I’ve eaten. Batter was light and crunchy and the fish was flakey, white and absolutely beautiful, peas were home made and not tinned processed slop you’d get elsewhere.
I can’t wait to return.
Hands down the BEST fish and chips on Scarborough. We were lucky enough to stay around the corner from this gem. It always had a queue outside and for good reason! The small fish was a decent size compared to smalls from other chippies. Will definitely visit again.
In 6 visits to Scarborough, sampling fish & chips from various places, North Bay Fisheries is by far and away the best, no question! Meaty fish with a spot on batter (not greasy!), fantastic chips and the mushy peas and curry sauce were sublime!! Great friendly service too. Beyond highly recommended!

Absolutely stunning food ordered a medium haddock which was cooked to perfection with sweet flakes of white meat. Also had a home made fish cake which was equally as exceptional full of white fish. Can’t fault it .
Amazing fish and chips, top quality, would highly recommend. The 4 star service is because I wasn't offered a bag to carry my 2 portions of fish chips and gravy, therefore it was awkward balancing the gravy on the boxes while walking back to the car. Felt like a carrier of some description should at least be offered.
Consistently the best fish and chips for 5 years tasting in Scarborough, other UK cities, Southern Europe, and Africa as a very critical time served head chef (2years) and general hospitality manager with 25 years experience. Well done guys, you certainly deserve this review for serving the nations favorite far above the average. Reasonably priced at £12 for 2 medium hadocks and chips makes it an absolute treat with the option of enjoying it in the beautiful Peasholm park just across to road for a peaceful picnic.
