Fantastic hosts. Lovely campsite for our motorhome. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. Beautiful scenery too
We had our wedding reception here over 30 years ago and nothing has changed. To say it's a bit dark and dreary is an understatement. The whole place is in need of a refurbishment, especially the carpets, tables and 1970s toilets.
Food and drink was good if nothing special.
If nothing else a good lick of paint to brighten the place up is definitely in need.
Great hosts
Had a nice dinner dance.
Good food
We had a great time while staying there for the weekend in our motorhome, met up with family, and had a superb meal. Would definitely stay and eat there again.
Lovely place. Plenty of parking.
Small campsite attached.
The food is very nice and very reasonably priced for today's standards.
Well worth a visit.
The site was clean and tidy, we didn't use any of the facilities as we were only there for one night in October '19. Unfortunately the restaurant was only open for an event rather than the public / suite users but it looked nice and is open to anyone at times. I think there was a pub around 10-15 mins walk which were tempted to visit but it was too comfy in the camper on a cold night. The staff were pleasant and advised us where to park up in our campervan and were facilities where, there was only one caravan there at the time. If we were in the area we would go back.
We had a reception for a funeral here. Ordered the bacon sandwich and scone option. Bacon sandwiches were huge, with mushroom and tomatoes, all freshly made 'to order' when people arrived. Scones were amazing, proper home baked with jam and cream in separate dishes. Tea and proper brewed coffee too.
It's a lovely homely setting and was the perfect little send off.
Highly recommended.
We stayed at the campsite in our motorhome for 3 nights it was clean tidy and well kept. It had great views and was peaceful.
On Sunday we booked lunch in the restaurant. The service was amazing, attentive, friendly and professional. The food was well presented, plentiful and excellent quality and value for money.
All in all a great experience.
