First and last time for this one!
To begin the service was horrendous. Very unfriendly and unhelpful, irritated when I asked for a side of rice!
They got our order wrong and then blamed us and didn't fix it. Then the food was overcooked, small portions and not good at all.
Also what is up with all the bird cages??? Can't be up to code with food and health safety?
Food always delicious,fair prices and good porcions.
Mine No°1 is salt&pepper chicken and egg fried rice always prepared to perfection.
AWFUL. Please those who rated this Well,i they must be indigenous to Borehamwood. Burnt my Crispy beef to almost black and chow mein was very small and had basically dog meat in it. Please please avoid, you have had my warninge
Been using this takeaway for over 30 years & the food is always of good quality.
Some dishes I find a little too salty for my own individual taste.
Would recommend if you are looking for a tasty authentic Chinese meal.
Awful...
Ribs and prawn toast were burnt.
The chicken curry was chicken with the sauce poured on top, with a suspect watery residue in the tray.
The egg fried rice appeared to be days old.
Stay away...
The best Chinese takeaway I have discovered. Great taste, good portion sizes and seem to keep their prices more affordable than others in the area. I have not personally been there but get the food delivered, which is another plus as the other Chinese takeaways I don't think in the high street deliver.
Update 12 Feb 2020..Its been a while since ordering a takeaway, but that's only because I don't live on them. So I've noticed prices have increased by 10p to 30p per item, but you know what..I'm sure every other takeaway has increased their prices as well and New Lantern House is still great value, whilst many of the Chinese takeaways skimp on the meat to make savings not NLH. Its still the number 1 Chinese takeaway for me.
Been going for 30 years as i grew up on same street, regular weekly customer and spending over £50 a time. Counts for nothing..........since lockdown they are cr@p!! Wrong orders constantly then the last time i made a massive order the chicken in curry was raw, replaced the whole order as by then had contaminated whole plate of food. Next time i wanted to give the benefit of doubt and order again he told me he would only replace one dish did if raw!!!! I will never order again there food morals are dirt
I found this place a few weeks ago after living in Borehamwood for many years, I was ordering on a weekly basis but after yesterday I will not be going back, I called about 6 p.m., I live probably half a mile from restaurant if that. My food arrived I kid you not 10 minutes later. The food was piping hot but did not taste fresh at all we had two chicken dishes and ribs, I cannot see how this is fresh and made of in 10 minutes and delivered in 15.. this is not any as much as you want nor is it a restaurant it's a takeaway, as I had my food delivered within 15 minutes I now know this restaurant does not cook fresh which is very disappointing.
