The New Inn is a likeable if unspectacular pub in the city centre of Buxton, right next to the the Market Place bus stops. It is owned by the Robinsons brewery, famous for their old ale "Old Tom", which you should give a try if you like dark real ales. The pub is smaller than the outside seems to suggest, and there is a room to the back that is usually more quiet, especially when sports are on TV in the bar area, which was the case when I visited it in February of 2018. The beer selection is decent, including several hand-pumped real ales. There is also a small outside seating area, but it's right next to a fairly busy street.
"Cask Marque" pubs are few and far between in Buxton, so the New Inn is a solid option for real ale drinkers, especially those waiting for their bus home. ;)
Good proper pub in middle of town. Nice pint too. Wasn't really that welcoming, but I think the bar staff had a bit of a shock when 20 odd people walked in the door. Nevertheless pleasant enough considering we were strangers, from a visiting football club.
Good food, great people who work here. It's a must visit. ????
Lovely pint of Robinsons Iron Maiden's Trooper here. ???????? & a real fire in the winter.
Absolutely top venue. Went way above the call of duty. We will definitely be going back. Probably tomorrow.
Wouldn't even give one star but had to to leave a review.awful experience and the blonde ,spotty, rude, abusive woman that was sat at bar drunk will put your customers off.shes been barred from other pubs when I went to other pubs.wouldnt recommended this pub as bar staff did nothing as she is sat there swearing away at people
Great little pub. 3 cask ales from Robinsons to choose from. Lovely atmosphere and the barmaid was very efficient friendly.
Popped in for a quick shot while heading back to another bar. One of the bar staff served us our shots and she seemed a bit out of it. Then she couldn't get the card machine to work as it kept failing connection but made us wait there for 10 mins while she tried and then her rude boss spent another 10 mins swearing loudly at the machine before demanding we paid with cash. Not a great experience...
