Lovely little cafe tucked away down a side street. Food range is a bit limited but absolutely delicious - I will be dreaming about their momo dumplings! Great coffee and lovely staff - highly recommend.
NEPA Coffe and Food is a favorite spot for those working and living in the area and a great alternative to both the coffee chains (i.e Starbucks) and and independent coffee shops (i.e Shoreditch Grind). NEPA is located on a side street off East Road and sandwiched between the Premier Inn hotel and Scape Shoreditch.
Unlike other independent coffee shops that at times suffer of the Shoreditch attitude and outright bad service, the staff at NEPA are always cordial and friendly. This gives NEPA is a unique homely neighborhood cafe feel. The space is small and narrow with five to six small tables. In the summer it features three small tables for outside sidewalk sitting. It recently underwent an interior design update, which helped make the space more spacious but keeping the homely look and feel.
The food on offer is a combination of coffee, tea, porridge, home baked goods and cakes - including croissants, muffins, Oreo cookie cake, lemon drizzle cake - and freshly made sandwiches and salads for lunch. The cakes and food are fresh and tasty. Opening at 7AM every day you can see the staff busy preparing the fresh food ahead of the lunch crowd. Price wise it is cheaper than your local Starbucks and the service is pure charm.
Amazing avo on toasts and coffee, a decent selection of pastries. Polite staff. The place is tiny so it's rather good for take aways. They could do more vegetarian options.

Lucky to have this place only down the road from the gym. Staff are always welcoming and serve delicious coffee. Only down the road from Old Street station but much quieter and relaxing. Thanks Nepa!
Brilliant small cafe not far from Old Street station. A little off the beaten track so it’s not heaving, plus there is Wi-Fi. Extremely pleasant staff too. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and need a spot to do some work.
This little cafe is a hidden gem. It’s quiet and laid back, really lovely atmosphere - great kind of indie lo-fi music that is relaxing. I brought my laptop to do some work over breakfast, and had the cheese and tomato croissant toasted - it was one of the best I’ve had. The tomato and cheese were so fresh, and the croissant was soft and flaky - really great. The matcha latte is excellent too, will definitely be back.
