Lovely part of Mid Wales to go for a walk or cycle ride. The track (road) leading up to the car park is bit gravely especially on some of the bends so take care if on a motorcycle. There are some blind crests, so take it easy and enjoy the drive. There are plenty of passing places if you meet someone coming the other way. Plenty of car park spaces as long as people park sensibly. No bins provided so please do take your rubbish home and not spoil this beautiful location. There is a lovely scenic drive, ride, cycle to Talybont which is well worth doing both ways.

Nant-y-Moch Reservoir which provides Aberystwyth with hydroelectric power. Wild, remote, beautiful, deserted. Pretty good single track road to get there, plenty of passing places but almost no traffic. I think I met 3 other cars. Lots of places to stop for a picnic or take photos.

Beautiful (if remote) spot, well worth a visit, but come in from the Tal Y Bont side (the roads are narrow and gravelly) as the view on the way up this road are spectacular!!

After purchasing my fishing permit from Ponterwyd petrol station the 10 minutes drive to this idylic location was a breeze. Plenty of good size 1lb wild brown trout to be had the scenery was breathtakingly beautiful.

Peaceful and interesting to look at the dam from the car park, but not much else.

This is a 60s built reservoir with the dam made from pre-cast concrete sections. Quite impressive. It claims to be the largest hydro electric producer in England and Wales but water level well down like all reservoirs at the moment. Reasonable car parks, nice walks - no facilities.
