Best KPortal Reviews

Great tasting food, avoid ANY soft drinks.
Myself and three friends decided to dine ad-hoc. The food was brought out relatively quickly. It wasn't the hottest but tasted good. On receiving the bill we queried the charges (over £80 for four of us, no starters, no dessert, only 2 x sides and 2 x bread). We realised quite quickly that we had been charged over £20 for 5 drinks (3 X pints of soda and lime, 1 X pint of coke and 1 X pint of lager shandy). Each lime and soda was £4.60 each. MORE THAN A PINT OF LAGER !!!. I won't be rushing there for another meal. Good food, horrendously overpriced drinks menu. Avoid unless ur drinking alcohol.
The BEST Indian food I've ever had. Ali, the owner, is very attentive, kind and friendly. He always makes great effort to provide excellent and authentic product. All the staff is also very kind and friendly. It's always a pleasure to diner there. Every time I am in London I visit the Muntaz Mahal. Unmissable place if you want a delicious Indian food in a realxing ambience
Just had a delicious take away. Totally unsure where the poor reviews have come from so please don't read them. Food was ordered over phone and ready quickly. Very tasty and the ladies were delightful when we went to pick it up. Serious curry, very impressed. They also gave us two free bottles of beer, which was a lovely touch.
I go here regularly and enjoy some nice, tasty food and a friendly atmosphere. They have a reasonably varied menu and will make you something special if you don't see what you want. It's a small town restaurant and so is normally quiet and relaxed, you can order takeaway if you prefer but the option of their chilled draft beer is always tempting.
Having eaten here many times and had great service, myself and some friends had a meal there on my recommendation last night. But the service was the worst I have ever encountered the guy who greated us and took us to a table and once we had sat down decided to move us to another table. We constantly felt rushed the dips for the popadoms were taken away before we had finished. Being lent over to clear empty dishes whilst we were still eating gave us the feeling if not being welcome and wanting us out as quick as possible. The best bit of the night was when we were paying and he said if you would like to leave a tip.... Yeah right I tip for good service not rudeness. The food was good as usual just a shame staff let down.
I love this place. It's the only place I can get my favourite curry cooked correctly, which suggests they must do it wrong, but that's the way I like it. Ask for a Chicken Tikka Passanda. The service can be an acquired taste, but they have got some younger members of staff, which are really helpful and friendly.
Definitely much improved restaurant. Only take away currently available. Good quality traditional curry house. Menu could be improved with modern vegetarian options (paneer etc)
I note the positive reviews that have been written about this restaurant but we had the most awful meal there last Friday. I had a Tikka Masala (not dificult to get right) which contained handfuls of undissolved castor sugar which, we were told. was necessary as it was a mild curry but even the Nan was covered in sugar.
I have eaten curries for the last 50 years and I have never come across this approach to a mild curry.
It was absolutely inedible and we had to scrape off the sauce before we could attempt to eat the meat..
We always joke about the local Indian restaurants that it is either the red or the orange 'cook in' sauce with meat thrown in, this was no different.
