Best fish and chips in Houghton Regis. And I do love my fish and chips if you see my other reviews. No nonsense good old fashioned high street fish and chips. The fish is cooked to order. Prefer it this way. Batter not too thick and seasoned nicely. Chips have just the right thickness, texture and consistency. But, its the curry sauce that is too die for! Wow. oh wow. My daughter usually hates curry sauce but she loved this one. Wished I had ordered more of the curry sauce!
Possibly the scruffiest chip shop I've ever been in. Wallpaper hanging off, cracked window, filthy grouting on mismatched tiles. Cheap, fluorescent advertising markers, all hand-written. Proprietors who can't raise a smile.. Possibly though, the best fish and chips in the area. Beautiful flavour and cooked to perfection.
Wife is often extremely rude, chips in particular often seem/taste like they’ve been reheated. Tried give us curry sauce that lid had chopped/cut hair all over it and was obviously it was her hair. She didn’t even let her husband throw it away made him wipe lid. This place is filthy disgusting and local authority should go into all food establishments whether takeaway/restaurant and issue food standards ratings. Avoid
Its tatty don't look clean portions are pitiful they have peters pies and pasties which are smaller than Pukka pies but you pay the same even though the quality is not as good.
I personally think they need to refurbish the place and they need to put more on their menu.
I would not recommend this chip shop
CHIPS CUT BY HAND. You won't find a better chippy for miles, love this food. Portions can be a bit on the small side depending who serves you but it is just so tasty, love it.
This is a proper fish and chip shop. No kebabs or pizzas. Fish fried fresh while you wait. Good chips. Above average pies. Below average prices.
The shop is filthy, there chips have improved over last 6 months but everything is smaller than average and the husband and wife combo very often argue. There opening times are iratic to say the least the times we have come past at 9 pm and it's already shut ķll
It's a bit on the tatty side compared with the best chip shop Pepe but the fish is quite nice to eat. Pity their portions of peas isnt enough to feed an ant...
