Greens are very very poor. Fairways not to bad. Tee boxes very poor at best looks like it hasn't been looked after or maintained for a long time. There was no sand in the "bunkers"!! The £5 for 18 holes was definitely the maximum amount I'd pay to play this course but I'd never play here again just not a golf course of any kind in my opinion. The coffee was OK though. Picture is of a "bunker" which contained not a single grain of sand the photo makes the green look OK but its just a good camera!
If I was told I could play here again for free... That would stil be too expensive! Awful condition, terrible lay out. Only a 9 holes couse with extra tees dotted on the "fairways" to call it 18 holes. The fairways and tee boxes were as thick as a normal rough and rough was a lost ball. Bunkers had no sand whatsoever and greens were shocking. All in all, I honestly can't see how this place is still open! Not having to pay a greenkeeper helps I suppose ????. Also, one guy was playing in a vest, one jumped the fence in front of us to play, and one group were smoking weed .... I think that sums the place up!
Excellent, haven't played much during the last 3 years and just starting to get back in to the game. I took my 7 year old son for 9 holes and he loved it. Friendly staff and service in the clubhouse/restaurant, will be visiting again next week.
Just like to say, myself and about 40 other young lads, on a Job Creation Prog, cleared all the trees, and made all the greens, bunkers and fairways, it was done in 1976, I was staying with the Hughes Family at Clifton Bottom Road, I stayed with them for 10 months, I drank in the King William and had my first game of Bar Billiards, we never had them in Liverpool.
I enjoyed myself so much there.
I was friends withe the Pegram Family, they moved to Brymbo because their Dad got a job Steel Factory.
Great Times
An enjoyable and challenging course especially having not played for about 15 years. Could you manage 9 holes then went in to clubhouse for a couple of pints served by a very charming lady...
Had a testing round of golf on a well kept 9 hole golf course with some tricky holes and some very steep hills (Buggy Hire available). The club house has a bar and drinks are very reasonable you can get a snack and hot drinks are available, could recommend this friendly course if you are in the Wrexham Area. Prices for 18 holes were £10 for seniors, you can play just 9 holes and there are two sets of tees for the front and back nine
Brilliant 9 hole, not very forgiving for balls. Some hard holes. Worth a try
Great course, nice mix of difficult and easier holes. It's made up of 9 holes that you play twice from two different Tees but it's still great fun. Some of the Tees could benefit from clearer signage.
