Really lovely service! Had some jeans I needed taken up, was £15, collected the next week and very happy! The guy in there is lovely to ????
Terrible job, avoid this place. Look at the photo does that look like a professional tailoring job to you? Expensive and awful quality. I asked him to repair a torn seam and he added a patch without asking me added it very very badly. Also the shirt now smells of smoke. So he smokes on your clothes. This is unacceptable.
Very disappointed with this tailor. Do not pay in advance. Gave a pant and 2 jackets for work ( a new zip & new elbow pads for the second) around July 1st, paid 65 £ in advance in good faith for a pick up mid July. Came 2 weeks later and only the pant had been taken in. Came again after a month after, not started on the jackets.. Came back another 2 times and he still did not start. Excuse being it was hot or something vague like that "2 more weeks and it would be done for sure". Finally came in this week and he still didn't complete it. So from 1st July to 23rd Aug, nothing was done even with a full payment in advance. I asked for my things back and he promptly gave me the entire 65£ cash too. However I felt bad and since he did the pant work at least, I insisted he keep a 20 for it. So after almost 2 months Im back at square one, not angry just very disappointed that supporting a local tradesmen and being patient came back to bite me. Lesson learnt unfortunately for me but you can avoid it.
Excellent work! I took a lined leather jacket in to have the sleeves shortened and he did a lovely job — you’d never know it was altered. I’ve also had several pairs of trousers hemmed very well — clean hems and well-matched thread. The lovely fellow there doesn’t speak much English, but that’s fine, speaking slowly and a little charades will sort it out. You pay up front and the prices are very reasonable.
Was recommended this by a local bespoke seamstress, with proviso that his English was not great and he could be grumpy in manner. Used him many times over past year or so, and indeed his English is not great, but he was okay with me and grew to like my visits. One minor issue, which could be attributed to new staff member.
However, he recently provided a cover for a torn pillow case. It was priced at £20, which was not really worth it, but decided to save the pillow rather than buy new.
On collection, was immediately clear the white
material was lightly stained. I pointed this out. He tried to shrug it off. I said I paid £20 for this, and not good enough. After making this point twice, he thrust £20 in my hand, and said 'next time, don't come back' with clear anger in his voice.
That was as it was, and I took the pillow home, to give a wash, and the stains did not come out.
Felt disappointed by the way he dealt with this. I think he is busy, so feels he can afford to cast off regular customers as he did. I wouldn't recommend him on this basis, and suggest he spend more time working on his English and communication skills, than listening to Turkish radio/TV, if he is to run a credible business here.
I had an emergency bridesmaid dress alteration. Visited on a Bank Holiday just before closing & he knew exactly what to do. Very quick turnaround (1 & half days) and very reasonably priced. I’m very grateful and would definitely recommend!
Very unprofessional! Paid bloody £40 for a simple change of coat length, said would be done in two weeks. When I went in on Saturday, he said it’s not ready, asked me to come on Sunday. Went today, he said he’s not open today, and ask me to come tomorrow. I said I won’t be here tomorrow, he said give him 10mins and accused me of coming late. If he’s not ready now, would he be ready earlier??? And the alteration was super easy, which took him literally 5mins, not great work tho. Not coming again for the quality and the money’s sake, also was super rude as well.
Baffled by the negative reviews for this excellent tailor who does top work at a low price. We brought a beloved cotton shirt that had a tear in the sleeve caused by being caught on a nail in the wall. After he'd fixed it neither he nor we could find where the rip had been. Done very quickly plus a series of alterations we've entrusted with him were great. We'll definitely return soon.
