ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
WILL NOT RETURN
After working locally I wanted to try the Kontosouvli.
This was my first visit and I was looking forward to a visit due to the positive reviews.
When I entered around 3pm, there were only 3 customers and staff were sitting down eating.
I stood waiting to order and I felt like I was unwanted as I had interrupted their meal.
I ordered the Kontosouvli for takeaway and the male who spoke broken English and did not speak Greek points to the shish kebab and says "chicken or pork". I said I want Kontosouvli. I said have got some and he said "yes" He picked up a souvlaki and says "this". I replied that is not Kontosouvli but a souvlaki.
He was trying to pass off different meats as Kontosouvli. Then I said to him, "have you not got any", he said No.
I said okay, let me just get a large pork souvlaki wrap. He warmed up a two small skewers of pre-cooked pork. He then took payment.
As he was putting the wrap together he said "what sauce do you want". I said the wrap should come with tzaziki. He said he doesn't have any. I was shocked at this point. I said this is a Greek restaurant and you do not have tzaziki. Can you go and have a look in your fridge.
He raised his voice and said "look, I'm busy". He started pointing at some deliveries as if to suggest they were awaiting supplies. "There is no food left. You have come at a bad time". He basically said it was my fault he had no food left because I came at a bad time.
I said to him, why didn't you tell me this before taking my money. I told him that I do not want it without tzaziki and that I will not be coming back again. He then responds with a loud aggressive voice "Mayo or chicken Mayo". ( Only two sauce options given).
He put the wrap together and handed it to me. No apology and no attempt to make things right.
First time I have had a so-called Greek Souvlaki wrap with mayo and I did not like it.
The pork was also mildy warm and the bread was burnt. The chips portion was also small.
A few words of advice for the restaurant:
- If you have run out of certain food and toppings, tell customers before taking their money.
- if you can't be bothered to serves customers, close the restaurant.
- Good manners and good customer service goes a long way.
- Don't blame customers for your failures. (It is not up to the customer to find out when your deliveries are to place an order).
Amazing, the dishes are really well served, with large portions and they’re delicious. Not expensive. Staff was kind and welcoming. At the end, they treated us with a lovely complimentary dessert, it was scrumptious!
Google Maps shows it as a Greek restaurant. THAT IS NOT THE CASE ANYMORE. According to the person there, that hasn’t been the case for months.
The food was spectacular. It transported me to a taverna in Greece. The corgette fritters were so tasty, with a hint of mint mixed in, and my pork belly main dish was a show stopper. It was everything you'd hope for in a classic Greek meal. Our waitor was also very welcoming. I will go again soon!
We just had a cup of tea but everything was very nice and staff was so kind and polite!
Great food. I liked it (I am Greek), but also my non-Greek friends were all happy with it.
I loved the traditional music, straight from a Greek taverna.
Very short staffed, so I hope they make it and thrive.
I've visited this place a few times at the lunch time. The service is fast, good portions and fair price.. the place is clean and tidy.. The only downside is about the ambient music that is a bit loud, but not a issue at all...
A gem! Found this place by chance when my family was wondering around the area and it did not disappoint, we wondered why it was empty on a Saturday night, maybe location is off the tourist trail because the food is just wow! Flavour is perfect, portions are perfect and price is relatively good.
