Food looks and tastes good but the customer service and attitude of the ladies working there was absolutely DISGUSTING. As a worker of customer service myself, it’s appalling to see how myself and other customers were treated. It seemed like a chore to be served. We were given multiple sighs/ huffs of annoyance and eye rolls. After asking for 2 vegan sausage rolls it seems we were judged and purposely given the items from the freezer. I felt discriminated against as person of colour and even watched the 3 workers there be very hostile and dismissive to another customer that clearly struggled to speak English well. Beware the staff here!!! One the of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. Staff need more training on how to run a professional and friendly environment.
Lovely little bakers this, I reckon their granary loaves are the nicest I've ever tasted and I'm often in there picking one up, for what is really just a few pence more than its factory produced supermarket equivalent in the grand scheme of things.
The cream cakes are also lovely, I was in yesterday to pick Helen a cream slice up when I got my bread, and you'd have thought I'd bought her a new car or a puppy the way her face lit up when I got home with it!
Finally it's one of the few places I can get an authentic gypsy tart which is one of my way favourite treats. Not to mention the lovely pasties and slices, in fact just buy everything!
It's a wonder that I'm not 25 stone and skint!
Brilliant little bakery. Always open even in current climate and staff are pleasant, attentive and professional. Cakes, pastries and sandwiches always fresh and tasty but the bread baked here is delicious, Best in the area and fairly priced. Even selling a thick cut door step sliced loaf if you desire. Though the medium cut if perfect for me. Get there early to avoid disappointment especially on a Saturday, though telephone orders are welcome.
Limited parking in the area.
Lovely little classic bakery serving the local area. Shop could do with a bit of a refresh but at least in the last year they have started accepting card which has made it much easier as no one seems to carry cash anymore. The bread is always super fresh and perfect. Go to bakery in the area
The bread in Mia's Bakery, Halfway Street is amazing. Their bread is full of flavour and yummy. The staff are friendly, helpful and have been wonderful by keeping their doors open throughout this pandemic with a smile and a friendly word and welcome. Thank you, thank you, all of you. You are amazing.
