Very tasty Home made cake, ( various types) and a mug of tea was excellent after walking from Newquay.|Seating area at front was closed due to Covid 19 restrictions.|I and several others enjoyed the beach whilst having lunch. Very nice cake and tea topped off with fresh air (no seals or Dolphins this time)
Only having experience of visiting the cafe, I found a breath of fresh air in the friendly welcome and clean, homely surroundings.
The menu looked good and varied, but personally the cake (home made Victoria Sponge) and lovely Welsh Italian Cappuccino made by mine host is definitely a winner. The 'other half' will go for the tea an coffee and walnut cake every time.
I hope they can find a Sunday slot, for a roast dinner, sometime in the future.
Best wishes to Lyn, Aled and the staff.
We WILL be back.
We had all 3 rooms as our family were staying together for 2 nights. Lyn and Aled made us so very welcome and the rooms were lovely and very comfortable beds. The breakfast was fantastic! Stay there, you won’t regret it! We’ll be back... ????
We have visited the café a few times and sadly find the gentleman owner to be unfriendly and bordering on rude. His customer service skills in the café are sadly lacking. I've never stayed in the B&B so maybe that is the main focus. Not sure we will be visiting again due to the attitude. We sit outside with a dog who never seems to be in the right place, whether under the table, beside the chair. He isn't a nuisance at all and doesn't scavenge for beg from other tables. We were also moaned at once for buying 2 ice creams with a £10 note and not having change. It seems in busy times, they can't cope and turn people away by just stopping taking food orders, no discussion about waiting times or giving people the choice. I suppose being the only place in the village it is a captive audience. On the plus side the food is good.
Stumbled upon this hidden surprise. Ordered a couple of paninis with salad and the food was delicious and an abundance of a wide selection of salad ingredients. Topped this off with their orange and chocolate cake that is to die for. Excellent friendly service complimented the excellent food.
Such a friendly B&B, looked after us so well, Great breakfasts and sandwiches. Ice cream was good too! Would certainly recommend and would use again, if in the area. They even took our two collies!
Myself and my son jac come here almost weekly since discovering this hidden gem we have a holiday home locally and whenever we are there we always stop for lunch! Toasties are amazing and the jacket potatoes are huge! Aled and lyn are such welcoming lovely people and i would highly recommend this wonderful little place
Come to stop for a coffee at the beginning of our walk. No signs up about social distancing or how to order, only a big laminate on the door saying “open” with an arrow pointing to the handle, we opened the door to walk in and was shouted at (literally shouted) to stay outside we wasn’t allowed in. My boyfriend asked if they did coffee’s to which the response of the woman sat on her arse drinking a cup of tea was “theres a menu on the wall outside”. The menu of which had only about 5 drink items. We walked away without buying anything because of the appalling attitude of the woman sat inside.
