Got Nicks number online after reading the good reviews. Spoke to Kate and explained my situation and that my van was not driveable after my suspension lower ball joint had come off. She got me to send a picture of the problem over and the reg of the van. She then said they don't usually come out and do repairs but would make an acception for my van as it was easily and safely accessed where it was. She then got back to me with a price and that they could come and do it the same afternoon. I was amazed at how quick it would get done as being near to new year I thought I'd struggle to even get it done. Anyway they turned up in the afternoon and did the job in front of me, great friendly blokes who didn't mess around and got it done. Cheers lads for everything I would happily recommend you went above and beyond to get me back on the road.
Had a cam belt change staff are very friendly and honest. Very satisfied with the work done tonour family car. If you do drive a wider car going through there main frontage wouldnt be recommended in my audi a3 id say it felt like i had 10 inches either side to squeeze through ahaha

It is with a heavy heart that I have taken down my glowing review. I’ve thought long and hard about writing this but I have to warn other people.
We took our car in fo a mot. It failed on break pipes and tyres. We replaced the tyres the next day and asked mech-a-Nick to replace the break pipes which they did. The brake pedal was soft so bleeding the brakes didn’t fix it so we replaced the cylinder. That still didn’t fix it so we needed a abs pump. Kate said there wasn’t one available anywhere but suggested we send the old one to be refurbed. We did this but apparently it was too far gone to be refurbished. Apparently there wasn’t one available anywhere. Kate said the car was 14 years old and maybe we should cut our losses. At this point the car wasn’t even drivable. We agreed because we were paying £170 a week on a hire car. She said she would find the best scrap price for us . I also made enquiries. When we next spoke on the phone she said they would buy it from us as a donor car. She offered £240 which we accepted. She asked us to bring the log book down which I did and a spare key. That should have rung alarm bells but we were so gullible. Just out of curiosity
I did a check on our old car and lo and behold a miracle! Within a week and a half The “donor “ car had a asb pump fitted and a new mot ! With a mot the car was worth at least £2000. We paid them over £450 and we had paid £120 for new tyres. They paid us £240. We even took presents of chocs a biscuits down! We have another car now for which we had to use money that we had saved for our wedding. We have to put it behind us now because there is nothing we can do -but you have left us feeling angry, stupid and most of all just sad, as well as doing us out of hundreds of pounds.The above is the absolute truth. Make your own minds up.
Having read your reply everything you said was true as everything I said is true. It boils down to you paying us £240 scrap value for our car then within a week finding a asb pump you said you couldn’t get and having it re mot’d. We paid for the new parts to get it through the mot!! How do you expect us to feel when I found that out! So my remark stands. From the moment we decided to get another car because we couldn’t pay hire charges indefinitely you decided to buy the car as a “donor”- You knew you could wait for a part to come available. That was pre- planned because Nick kept looking for the part. That’s if you didn’t have it already. Knowing you were going to get the part eventually you should have paid us more than scrap value for the car. You could have still made a healthy profit. We paid for brake pipes, 2 tyres and a master cylinder to get it through the mot that you have now on the car. You have done us out of hundreds of pounds. as the car is now drivable and with a mot it’s worth a lot more. I can’t believe you have bleated about letting us off with labour charges! We trusted you! you have done us and you know you have. We live and learn. A sad lesson learned.
The indicators weren't working on my car. I took the car in in the morning and collected it lunchtime. Very good service and will recommend and use them again.
I’ve been using these guys for a few years now and they go above and beyond to help their customers. Today they helped my partner with his car - they were fast and efficient and didn’t charge us anything for an easy fix. Always leave us feeling satisfied and grateful for a mechanic we can trust.
