First visit here. A very popular place. Was very busy when I visited. There was a music session going on - a number of guys with guitars sat round tables, taking turns at a song. Well appreciated too it seems.
Drink prices here are also very, very reasonable.
I'd been in this Pub a few times and always got good, friendly service from the staff and customers were friendly too. Up 'til Feb 3rd, I only had positive things to say about the experience I had in there but, sadly, on this date, as I sat to watch the Scotland v Wales Rugby game, this drunken guy felt it reasonable to ask me if I was "a Rangers man" then "are you a Celtic man then?"
When I explained I was neither and wanted to watch the Rugby in peace, it was clearly too confusing for him and inspired his next question, "are ye a proddy or a Catholic".
Clearly I was dealing with someone who was still living in a drunken neanderthal world and, sadly, he got served more alcohol so, with a degree of sadness, I left to watch the Rugby elsewhere.
As this brain dead fool seemed to know a few people nearby I assume he's a regular, of sorts, in the place so I can only suggest that, if you want to encourage more patrons, you tell him to lose the bigoted attitude or the reputation of the Pub will be adversely effected.
P.S. The person in question was a stocky built guy in his late 60's who sat directly across from the bar facing the TV screens to the right.
This pub is great on price point. Staff are second to none. There is a pool table, dartboard, large screen TV for sports fans and there are theme nights and live music that are enjoyed by all. Well worth a wee visit.

Smashing pub. Friendly locals and the bar staff were knowledgeable and polite. Great prices as well, popped in whilst the wife was at Head to Toe getting a manicure.
Small venue with live music and close-knit community. Felt welcomed in almost instantly and bonded with the locals. Barstaff are fun and have good chemistry.
Friendly locals cheap and cheerful prices. The best wee pub in the west.
Cheap drink, decent jukebox, and salt of the earth locals.
