Stayed here 1 night because I was catching anearly ferry. I had travelled down from Lochinver for the ferry . I just wanted somewhere to sleep . This "hotel" fits the bill . Yes it is in desperate need of some tlc but my room was clean and the bed was comfy . It was only £36 for a single room for the night . Really what do people expect for that price . Had to check in at the bar . Staff were very friendly and once you had checked in you could get in and out without entering the bar if you wished . The room had tea/coffee making facilities and a TV. And it's own shower and toilet . Yes the place has seen better days . Would I use it again? Yes . Admittedly I wouldn't spend a week there but for an overnight stay definitely. Good value for money. If it were 5 star I wouldn't have stayed there it would have made my west coast tours wildlife day trip too expensive.
This is a great pub to go to for authentic local vibe. The patrons are friendly and there's usually live music. We had a great time and got good beer at a good price.
A bit stand-offish, they were. A good 3 minutes before we were into the craic.
Perfectly fine room; a minute's walk from the bus - unless you go the wrong way, when it's 6 minutes. And the ferry is right there. Just what was needed. (If you want a Holiday Bin, don't go)
Would say it's workman's pub or local pub. Could do with some modernisation. But is great atmosphere for night out
Great friendly pub. Great pint at reasonable price. Needs a good paint nd clean. But great proper old school vibe with regular punters. Would recommend.
The young lady that worked there was lovely but the setting itself was crazy. A Mish mash of odds and sods , kind of like a very strange dream and not a pleasant one. The place smells of damp and sea water. The toilets are on a whole new level of disgusting.
Stayed in Claredon Hotel / McCaigs for one night before leaving for Skye the next day. everything else was booked and the price for a twinbed room was still very reasonable.
It is a very basic and very affordable hotel with clean beds and an also basic but good breakfast is included in the booking.
Its located over a pub for the locals, they show live music and do disco and karaoke there from time to time - having said that our greetings go to the really friendly and helpful staff in the pub/hotel and also to a bunch of locals who made our first evening in scotland a really fun and authentic experience.
If you expect a deadquiet 4star bedroom with ac and glutenfree, vegan craftcoffee breakfast dont go there. If you‘re in need of a clean bed for a good price, enjoy the company of nice, real people and dont mind some live music and a bar below (everything closed down before 12pm) I‘d recommend this one for sure …
We stayed here overnight and we had a fairly spacious room (there were four of us). There is a bar downstairs but we didn't manage to go to it. We managed to check in slightly earlier which is good but you have to pay in cash!
