I wasnt sure what to expect a brown woman in a small village pub visited predominantly locals, but it was friendly and non intrusive, I didn't have to worry. Though remember to take cash as I had to scrounge around in my bag for change to pay for half a pint!
Nice typical country pub with pleasant secludedgarden, though garden might benefit from a makeover. Good views over parkland.
Lovely pub, quaint full of olde English charm but it could be better, it's in area popular with walkers & cyclists but if after a long walk you're after a warm drink then don't bother visiting! They don't do hot drinks - bloke behind the bar directs you to the walkers hut in the old school which has now closed (although a new facility serving hot drinks will soon be opening and will be run/maintained by the estate which will be a very welcome addition to the area for the walkers that visit here), struck us as odd that despite being a few metres down the road he didn't seem to know this! Also odd that a lady was sat in there drinking a hot drink! And if you choose to have a cold drink it's cash only (not many people go out with a pocket full of change these days!) We had no cash so left without a wish to return any time soon!
A good place to begin and end a walk from. It's a small old fashioned pub in the middle of rural countryside, nothing fancy, but reassuringly comfortable and friendly. Nice beer garden. Cards not accepted - cash only.
Lovely pint in an unremodelled traditional small village pub! A pint of bitter, a pint of lemonade and crisps for £5.40.
Note - cash only.
A great local pub. No TV. No music . Just chat, laughs and drinking.
Sadly no food at the moment but once they get a chef....
I go here most Wednesday evenings for the quiz. It is well run, would highly recommend for a fun evening out. Very friendly atmosphere, I have only ever eaten sandwiches and chips (proper chips) here, but I have seen plenty of other people eating and the food looks really good. Plates always empty and happy people so must taste good as well, will be eating here myself shortly.
Called recently for Sunday lunch. Booked for 1pm. Lovely freshly cooked roast. Well presented. Good meat, multi choice veg. roasties and Yorkshire pud. Very friendly staff. Landlord was polite and helpful, good real ale served at the proper temperature. Good atmosphere, quant dated pub, but very clean throughout helped no doubt by the fact that this pub operates a "guide dogs only " policy.. Well done!.....In many instances now, not everyone appreciates unhygienic dogs in eating areas. Other pubs should take note of these facts regarding dogs. At the time of our visit it had many repeat and local customers dining.
We and our friends will be returning very soon to The Massingberd Arms.
