I’ve been visiting Massarellas at Rowsley for a few years now and since my wife passed away a couple of years ago, I come most days for lunch. I have never had any cause for complaint, the food is always good and the coffee is great. I have always found the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. All in all it is always a pleasant experience.
Lovely cafe, a bit expensive but lovely selection of hot meals and also sandwiches. Very clean and well presented. Lots of tables so finding one wasn't a problem on a Saturday. Cakes looked lovely also although I resisted the temptation to have one.
6 of us had a meal there. The kids had sandwiches,crisps, a chocolate biscuit and a drink in a little bag. They enjoyed colouring and doing the quizzes on the bag ????. The adult meals were tasty. The cakes were lovely.
Awful. Went in at 10.50am. Advertised breakfasts until 11.30am, when we asked we were told they were only doing sandwiches. We ordered two bacon sandwiches. There was only us and someone in front of us. We ordered two americanos and a Diet Coke. This took absolutely ages. The bacon sandwiches came before I had sat down. The sandwich was appalling, it was cold and the bacon was chewy. The bread was stale. The coffee was ok at least. I didn’t ask for the sandwich to be fixed as no one was interested when I went back to the counter. I waited 10 minutes and gave up. Oh and this all for the price of £26.

The cafe is quote spacious and clean and tidy.
The serving staff were polite and kept the queue moving.
The coffee is nice and the warm fruit muffin was delicious.
Didn't eat here but had one of the nicest cups of coffee I've tasted. It was hot & quickly served
Called in today for coffee and cake and needed to use the disabled toilet! Absolutely disgusting!! The toilet was full of excrement and the flush handle was broken off the cistern. No toilet paper! The floor was wet through and the tap almost came off in my hand!! To expect this to be acceptable to anyone, never mind a disabled person, is totally unacceptable!! It needed to have the door locked with out of order sign fully visible!
Like an old people's home/canteen. Microwaved jacket potato for £8. No ice for drinks. No ice cream which was the whole point of the visit. Staff looked bored and disinterested
