We arrived after the kitchen had closed and this was quickly explained which we felt was really thoughtful, however we were offered a soup and crusty roll, which we stayed for plus great tea and coffee.
The customer care made all the difference - thank you

Booking at short notice I stayed in the family room/flat. In my short stay I only used the bedroom/very modern en-suite and found it superb. Attached is the well fitted out kitchen and large lounge with panoramic views over the Solway. It’s a lovely and very comfortable place to whatever the weather.
Went in here for a meal last week. Carribean fruit curry which was very nice indeed. Table had a beautiful view over the river and service from friendly staff was spot on. Only down side was around £7 for 1 and a 1/2 pints of lager shandy which was at best 50/50 as I was driving. I did ask for that mix but I thought £7 was rather expensive.
Can only comment on the Hotel as an eating and drinks facility along with its location, not having stayed there overnight.
The location is exceptional along with the food, service and thank goodness the beer, which is very often neglected when food is given such a priority.
The staff are friendly, helpful and polite, with a determination to provide the standard of service and quality of food / drink sought after, without the worry of driving around endlessly in search of such.
We have visited twice in three days and will be looking to return again before our holiday is over, in the knowledge we can relax and enjoy.
Our choice of food and indeed alcohol, have varied on each occasion and yet the standard and quality has remained at its best on each visit.
To top it all off, there is also a wide variety of seating area’s to chose from, to take in the outstanding view across the estuary.
Definitely a go to place to put on your list when in Dumfries and Galloway and an excellent reason to stay in the area. (Prodger family)
