Been going here for a few years now for breakfast, however within the last couple of months it went under new ownership. Now a lot of the food has changed and the cooking methods too. But worse is that they no longer accept Cards, cash only... which is ridiculous as the nearest cash machine is quite far. Obviously this is a classic tax dodge by the foreign new owners. Really disappointing, they lie to you too saying the card machine is broken but it's been 2 and a half months now so it's clearly a blag.
While I was in there multiple people went up to the counter to order, heard it was cash only and left to go to the cafe a few doors down.
RIP Mardin Cafe... such a shame.
Ive known Yusuf for a while his smile always makes my whole family happy and myself. The food, staff and service is always great. Fresh breakfast and happy atmosphere.

One of the best places in Portsmouth for an all-day breakfast. I only had poached eggs today but they were perfect. Good mug of tea too
Just eaten here for the last time after coming here for 12+ years. I'm guessing new owners as they aren't as friendly and the food isn't as good. Reduced portions cheap tasteless bacon and they have whacked the prices up! Also they don't include drink with meal now despite sign saying they do, They only give one slice of toast now instead of 2. Update your sign or include a tea and the toast as advertised. Don't be so tight!
The food is amazing and so tasty and it's so cheap to eat there.
