I stayed here for a night after a local gig, and it was top notch. The hosts were friendly and helpful, the room and ensuite were well decorated, clean and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. They went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary requirements too, which was very much appreciated. Highly recommended!
Maenllwyd was a very comfortable stopover on our walk of Glyndwr's Way. It's just a few yards from the path but close to the pubs and restaurants in the town. The B&B is very clean, friendly and comfortable and we enjoyed a tasty full Welsh breakfast to set us up for our next walking day. It's very good value for money. Our host gave us helpful advice about where to eat in the town and was happy for us to leave our car on the premises while we were out for the day. We would happily stay there again and recommend it.
We were doing our double act for a birthday party in |Machynlleth, and we needed a place to stay after the gig. When we booked in to the Maen Llwyd, we were immediately made to feel at home by the warm, familiar surroundings of this former vicarage. Gareth the owner met us, he was very friendly and helpful, and made sure we settled in to our room, and gave us the breakfast menu for the next day, which you simply fill in and leave in the lower landing. Coming in late is simple and security is good with plenty of safe off road parking. Our room was very warm clean and comfortable with a clean well presented bathroom. The room has a kettle which is a lovely full sized one so you can have lots of tea. Our sleep was very comfortable, the place is quiet and peaceful. If you have lots of tech with you the room has a very useful multi port usb power bank. In the morning breakfast is hot and freshly cooked by Gareth, and the dining room is clean and airy. Our entire experience was positive, and we totally recommend this a perfect place to stay if you are visiting mid Wales. We look forward to returning for the comedy festival in the future!
It was a privilege to stay here. The house is the owners childhood home and we were made to feel extremely welcome. A very short walk into Machynlleth town where you can find a small selection of eateries for dinner, along with a good sprinkling of shops. We stayed on route for the Snowdonia 360 on our motorbikes. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the house. Our room was room 7 at the top of the house, a lovely twin bedded room with a large bathroom. Towels and toiletries were provided. The cooked breakfast was more than enough to see us on our way the next morning. The host was very helpful and always a smile on his face. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Just outside of the main town this B&B was exactly what we wanted. The room is well decorated and there's even a usb extension by the beds so no need for loads of leads.
With parking at the rear it's only a short walk into town with multiple shops, pubs and restaurants/takeaways close by.
The cooked breakfast was great and the owner is a really lovely guy. If we do decide to stay in the town again will definitely book in here.
I like Maenllwyd and the honesty of the place. It's not flash but it's proper and the breakfast is ample. Gareth (and Jane) are friendly and available with help - and opinions if you allow Gareth to give his views!
Wifi was fine. Everything was clean. Short walk to pubs and restaurants and co-op. I'd stay here again and I recommend it.
A lovely place in the heart of "Mach" Super comfy beds, quiet and the full fry up was gorgeous. Ample parking was a bonus, as we're the fantastic hosts. Gareth you're a star. A real home from home. Can't wait to go back. Andy and Wendy rm3
The experience of staying at Gareth and Jane’s guest house was so positive for us. We felt totally welcomed as a gay couple. This was so genuine that I urge any gay couples or LGBTQ readers to give this lovely guest house a go! Gareth spoke lovingly of the family house which he now accommodates guests in. His sincerity and Jane’s dexterity will stay with me for a lifetime. Simply magical ????️✝️❤️????????????. Given the extremely hospitable welcome to the pink pound crowd, I feel sure Gareth and Jane will welcome the unicorn pound crowd also.
