I went to this chippy as my son knew the lovely lady working in there. The chips here at Madog were delicious. Unfortunately the fish was frozen and burnt. I do not recommend.
Totally unacceptable,lady tried to make excuses, eventually said she would give me back my £10 for both fish . The burger bought by a friend was not much better. Lunch totally spoilt, would never purchase from there again.
Ordered cod and chips. Chips were good but the fish was very poor. Clearly cooked from frozen. Overcooked. Batter burnt and what little fish there was was like rubber.
This is the cheapest takeaway in Porthmadog! The food was good, the service was great and the price was even better! We ordered a chilli con carne and chips, chicken curry and chips and a sausage and chips and paid just £14! The chicken curry was really nice, the chilli knocks your socks off so don’t try it if you can’t handle spice and the sausage and chips according to my son was the best in town! We will definitely be coming back soon ????

I think I would give 2 stars. I would say it was one of the worst fish from a fish & chips shop. The batter was hard , liked being in oil over and over. I just felt so disappointed.
Since every restaurant in Porthmadog is booked out thanks to the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme, I decided to stop at this small takeaway for food to take back to my hotel instead. I was super impressed with the simple yet delicious lamb burger and had my first ever curry sauce on chips, a Welsh delicacy apparently! Everyone else who ordered seemed to be locals and the young boy who served me was very polite. Would recommend this place for anyone wanting a quick yet tasty dinner.
