Once in a while, a small locally run restaurant absolutely nails everything it means to serve good food. Lucky Eats is hands down the best Chinese takeout I've had in the UK, maybe the world. Not too much salt, bursting with flavour and deliciously fresh and crispy, just the right amount of MSG, perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
I had an highly entertaining chat with the owner of this place, super chill dude, and he was telling me at length about how he makes all his dishes with only the best ingredients; you can really, really tell.
His lemon chicken is absolutely next level, the char sui bao were heavenly, the entire order we placed was akin to a religious experience.
The place is in an out of the way and unassuming place and they are struggling to find delivery drivers some nights, but I would highly recommend that anyone go and collect rather than choose somewhere else.
This Chinese is the purest expression of the art, and my love for the place will never wane.
The food is fantastic. The best Chinese we've had since moving back to the UK from China. Spicy, sweet, salty, flavourful just as it should be.
A minor issue with prawn crackers with our delivery was dealt with promptly after a phonecall so I can't fault the service.
Probably a wee bit more expensive than some others but we will definitely be using again.
Really disappointed with out take away shredded chilli chicken only had like a spoonful of sauce although tasty needed more. Chips were horrible over done dry and hard. Chicken balls well 2 of them had what looked like mould in them safe to say did not eat. The best thing was the veg chow mein now that was really good such a shame as I really liked ordering here. Even emailing still herd nothing ????
Walked in and Ordered. Super friendly staff, helped with our order and changed it to accommodate our taste. Came out piping hot within 10 minutes and was probably the best Chinese I have had to date. Better than all I have had in Bristol. Will definitely come back, so much taste, not greasy atall. 10/10
Finally Chippenham gets a decent Chinese takeaway... with a working website and is open on Tuesday! If you order Lemon Chicken, it really is lemon sauce and not the sickly pineapple sauce which every other takeaway in the area uses. You can have pineapple if you want, it's called Pineapple Chicken.
When they said our food would be with us within 20 minutes, I was skeptical, but sure enough... (I think it was actually 18 minutes).
Best Chinese ever! The food is tasty, the choice is fantastic and the service cannot be beaten. Give these guys a go, you will not be disappointed. Tip: the smoked chicken is frickin awesome!
Worst Customer service
I made a call to order some foods but the one who received the call was so rude. He did not understand me and cut the line.
I would not make another call ever again. It was disappointing.
