Very disappointed in tonights meal - no flavour at all to any of the dishes, very sad to be writing this as food always excellent. Satay was full of soggy vegetables carrots onions and peppers not the usual water chestnuts onions and straw noodles no taste to the satay, it was disgusting. The mixed curry chicken and beef was hard and couldn't be chewed and the beef was tough, chips weren't the usual either, if you have changed the chef time to sack the new one before you have no clients left!!
my review pertains to the food & beef in the beef curry. I hate leaving negative reviews, but if this is best chinese take away in kilwinning.. no wonder I travel to Ardrossan.
Live in Kilwinning but for chinese food always go Harbour Lodge. And I can see why! Called in here tonight. 1st issue cash only. 2nd beef was rank! Only called in as it has good rep locally just to avoid traffic re roadworks in Kilwinning. Won’t rush back!
I got beef curry, the beef was terrible I like good quality (my grandparents owned a farm so I know good quality beef)!!! This tasted cheap & nasty.
I dont know if they’re struggling & buying in cheap meat to increase profit margins as it had a good rep locally so wondering if this is a temorary thing?! Beef was disgusting, i hate cheap meat! Cheap sausages, cheap steaks etc etc
Rice portions are half size we normally get from Harbour Lodge
was glad i got the salt & chilli chips the salt & chilli hid the taste of chips which tasted of dirty cooking fat, honestly, will not be back.
They also had a sign up saying no free prawn crackers as from 1st Nov but you can buy them? Never got any and its Oct, not complaining though, dont care, if they anything like the beef im glad. Better off going ardrossan they’re food is amazing in comparison. Wishing I’d suffered the traffic queues.

Was 5 star but past 3 orders it has went down hill in my eyes. Been trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. But this time , chicken balls were zero batter small and burnt and flattened very greasy too. I think because there so busy the standard isn't there at the weekend .

It was £2.50 more expensive than it should have been having calculated beforehand! The chips were supposed to be 10p extra and they seemingly made it a separate order neglecting to tell me the total cost when I placed the order.
Chicken wings looked and tasted anemic with a strange off puting white shortbread coating.
All the meat was discoloured with slimy texture. Just disgusting. Wouldn't risk eating it. Was so bad my dog was sick. Cannot recommend.
Avoid we had a takeway on sat night both of us had cramps & up all night running for the toliet. Will not eat from here again.
