This is a very happy place for me. Been coming here for around 25 years now. My recent visit was after a gap of some years due to pandemic restrictions. The old wooden bridge across the dunes had reached a state of near collapse and was unsafe, so it has been replaced and resited at a more accessible spot to the seafront restaurants and shops. The beach is simply stunning,a magical place to walk even in winter if you are suitably wrapped up.
Plenty of places to stay, locally caught fish very good, various cafes and pubs
Amazing views of beach and surrounding area. Couldn't access the island but you can stroll alongside the river lossie up or down to town. There are plenty birds to watch and I spent most the afternoon wandering along the beach area without a care in the world
Now the bridge is open you can access the dunes and lovely beach

East beach and the esplanade are really nice any time of year. The new bridge is being built as I type and should be ready by February 2022 providing access once more to the dunes and forest beyond. Can't wait ????
Just love this place , especially come the winter time, free car parking, toilets , clean fantastic beaches, stunning views , ice cream to die for ????
