Definitely one of the worst eating-out-experiences I've ever had! During lunchtime, we ordered a sandwich and pasta with grilled vegetables. According to the menu, the sandwich should have been without mayonnaise and the pasta with aubergines and courgettes - none of that was the case. Instead we got a very bad sandwich with mayonnaise and overcooked pasta with too much oil, two pieces of broccoli, corn and carrots - everything seemed to be out of the freezer. We told our waitress that we were disappointed, but although she told us she would tell the chef, they just brought the bill (Almost £10 for the worst pasta ever!) and fudge (Does every guest get sweets with the bill? We have no idea!) to our table without saying a word (or saying sorry). We may be hungry tourists, but that doesn't mean we're stupid! This is probably the worst restaurant in Inverness, so stay away from this place!
We arrived late from a tour and everything else was closed which was why we decided to eat here. We ordered the 2-course lunch specials and had to swallow our starters dry as our server forgot to bring our drinks (we had to go to the bar and ask for them). Our server was busy chatting with another server, clearly a higher priority than paying customers. The rest of the food was okay, not great, my mixed leaf salad was definitely that...a mix of whole lettuce leaves with chopped ones! Not worth the price, unfortunately.
Inexperienced staff makes a terrible impression and this restaurant's staff in particular just don't seem to care. Take your money to McDonald's instead.
This restaurant looked very promising from the outside. Decent interiors along with nice seats right next to the street attracted us enough to walk in. The welcome was fine, we were seated immediately, got a menu and ordered our drinks.
We had prawns as a starter and they were fine, however after that it went all downhill from there...
The lasagna we were served were literally worse than the frozen 2£ lasagna we had the night before and the same goes for the pizza (which also couldnt match the frozen pizza from the night before). To top it off the waiters lost all interest in us past the moment we had been served the main course, which meant that we sat there for a good 20 minutes with empty glasses. The next time they paid us a visit was when they took the dishes off the table... At that moment we were no longer interested in staying there.
The whole experience was a bummer, because the overall quality of food & service was dissatisfying even though the individual ingredients (olives, feta cheese, prawns, ...) were of a fine quality and the initial service was good as well.
If the place was at like 1/2 of its prices it would be an average experience (albeit with lasagna/pizza worse than the frozen stuff) that wouldnt make me go through the hassle of writing such a lenghty comment.
My group bought three dishes here. All three were very mediocre, which would be fine except they were far too expensive. The wait staff also did a poor job. Our waitress spent the entire time talking instead of waiting on us. She stopped by to get our order, and then never came back. We even had to get up and go to the bar to get our bill. Very poor experience.
Confused...thought this may be a new restaurant since the signs outside and menu said this place was called River Grill. No wonder we couldn't find any reviews or on Google maps! Didn't realize this was Loqoom until we paid the bill and saw the name on the receipt. If we knew, we wouldn't have gone. We ordered calamari, which actually tasted good but only got 3 pieces (although large pieces). The Spanish meatballs were a bit tough. Thank goodness for the sauce it was in. We shared a pizza with lamb topping, which was lacking. Pizza also reminded me of the frozen mass produced kind, it was too perfectly round!
Good food. Staff are so nice and good to kids. Food was tasty and the bathroom was super clean. Good burger and pasta. Decent kid menu also.
Very disappointing. Like a lot of the previous reviews we ordered starters and mains. Guess what - the mains arrived before the starters. We pointed out the error. The meals were taken back to the kitchen and our starters were immediately brought to the table. Inevitably our main meals were kept warm in the kitchen whilst we eat our starters. This was confirmed when the dried up and clearly inedible meals were returned to the table. We explained to the waiter that the meals were unacceptable, at which point he claimed not to understand because of his apparent lack of English. Another member of staff came over to our table and we explained the meals were unacceptable and we wanted two freshly cooked meals. About 10 mins later the meals were served but they did not look significantly different to the original meals. So very disappointed with this restaurant. There was certainly no apology or offer to reduce the bill. Judging by the disfunctional front of house staff I can only imagine that the kitchen is a very caotic place. In conclusion - the food is poor and over priced. Give the place a wide berth.
Don't go there, the waiter told us we cannot have any tap water because it was not good we saw other tables with glass of water being served he brought us bottles of water which of course he charged us.
He then brought us our starters and half of our main dishes and forgot 2 of my friends their main dishes afterward.
When we asked him about the 2 missing main dishes, he had totally forgotten about them.
And to finish, the food is pretty bad the burger I ordered was a joke they have better burger at Mc Donald.
