Love the food and the salt and pepper chips and chicken
Great village take away with a large range of menu items that include a good variety of vegetarian options.
It is take out only, not dine in; and there is no option for delivery so you will need to be able to collect. I believe they are open 6 evenings a week from around 5 or 5:30pm until late and closed on Sunday.
One downside is that they do not take card payments either in person or over the phone, and only have the option of paying cash. There is a free to use cash point a few shops down which is helpful, but honestly I think nowadays cash payments shouldn’t be difficult.
Portion sizes here are average as are their prices and I generally think the food is of good quality.
I have always found their Chinese food to be fantastic and would highly recommend the food. However, we do not enjoy their chips at all.
I have had a few incidents where items on my order have been forgotten which is not great as they don’t deliver to send the items to you. Which means you may have a family member who ends up with no meal. On these occasions I have phoned the restaurant and they have been very apologetic and have written a note that I can claim the item on my next order. Even with months in between orders this has always been honoured which I very much appreciate.
The staff are always very polite and friendly, and are happy to help. Overall despite a few negatives, I would still recommend this take away and my family and I continue to enjoy their food regularly.
We frequently use this takeaway place for takeout. They are always polite and friendly. The food is always hot and tasty. We love the free prawn crackers and also, the last time we went there, they gave us a spare udon prawn noodles dish as a freebie for them Taking a bit longer with our order.
Best Chinese takeaway around, we've been eating from here for over 15 years, the food is great and the staff are very friendly, your local family run business - taking pride in their work, their business and looking after their customers. Well done guys.
Food quality extremely poor, I felt sick. Cash only is questionable and a huge inconvenience. I'm now needing to have a herbal tea, I feel so uncomfortable in my stomach. I will not be returning or recommending.
An hour after leaving the above review, I am still feeling uncomfortably after eating some of my order. The reamin of my order will go into the bin, not even giving it to my dog.
My son and I have just had the best take-away Chinese that either of us have ever had from Loon Tin - delicious. Recommend salt and pepper chicken, if you haven't tried it, take my advice and do! Gets busy on a Saturday evening, we had to wait outside a which but it was worth the wait.
I would never step food in this place again after the way I was treated tonight. When we got home we realised we had been given someone else's order. We phoned the Loon Tin to explain what had happened and they told us to come back to collect the correct order. I asked if we should bring the incorrect order with us, to which they said don't worry about it. When I arrived at the Loon Tin, I was told that we had phoned up to cancel our order and that they were not going to give me anything. This was absolutely not true and we had paid them £60 for a large order. The incorrect order we received was mostly portions of chips so was not worth anywhere near this amount. The staff were extremely rude to me and were treating me as if I was trying to get something for nothing, all I wanted was the food that I had paid for. After a long time of me refusing to leave the shop without my food or a refund, after speaking to my husband on the phone they finally agreed to give me the order. It was then brought out in about 2 minutes which makes me strongly suspect that it had been sitting there all along, even though they told me it had been cooked fresh. I do not appreciate being belittled in front of other customers when I had done nothing wrong.
I believe in life we are so quick to complain but we delay saying well done. Last night I looked for a local Chinese with good reviews close to burghfield common. I chose this Chinese due to 50 good reviews. It was a excellent, good service over the phone, 15 minute collection, well priced, piping hot & served with a complimentary bottle of Coke. Thank you for a lovely meal.
