Really resent being asked to pay extra for my dog on the pretext of the additional cleaning, only to find long human hairs on the dressing table and on the floor which made its way into the bed. Even had a hair on our throw which we took with us! Pointed it out to the owner who said 'she would tell her', (meaning the cleaner!?) We declined the extra £20 for breakfast as it totally put us off the general hygiene. The room was also dark, dingey, old fashioned and the bathroom smelt strongly of mould. Definitely not worth the rate, will not return. Woburn is lovely but there are much better places to stay we would say.
After a long 10 mile hike through Woburn Park we dropped in for a well earned pint. We were greeted by "Steve" he was a great host and gave such a welcoming atmosphere. We will be leading a group walk on Sunday 11th February with a group of 30 and it will be certainly on our schedule to pop in. Thank You to Longs Inn and Steve for your outstanding hospitality - Ade and Den
Friendly and welcoming, reasonable price and rooms are ok for the price. The rooms are very clean but the room we had could do with a bit of paint in place
a lovely old building, i like quirky corners, uneven floors etc.
the landlady could not have been more helpful. she went out of her way to cook a meal for my partner and i even though the kitchen was closed.
Great hotel and bar. Amazing staff throughout.
Highly recommend
We stayed here for 4 nights over the F1 weekend in the Hayloft apartment which is 3 bedrooms & a shared bathroom. The apartment is shabby & needs a good clean. None of the bedrooms have mirrors in them. The wardrobe in 1 room is not fastened to the wall, it wobbles when you open the door & could easily fall on top of someone, the missing rail on the landing at the top of the stairs leaves a hole large enough for a child to fall through. The bathroom is of a very poor standard with mouldy, black grouting in several places, broken skirting boards and an exposed cable going up into the roof. The toilet flush doesn’t work well & is inadequate for 3 people all trying to get ready in a morning / evening. |One of the bedrooms is above the laundry room & we were woken up every morning between 5,30am -6am by a door slamming loudly several times. |You expect some noise when staying in a pub but Saturday evening was dreadful with excessive noise until past 1am, with swearing & what sounded like a fight under the bedroom. Surely as a host you would have some awareness of what was going on & think about your paying guests comfort? |We had read good things about breakfast but the only choice was a full English which appeared to have been plated up some time before it was actually served as the beans were stuck to the plate & the rest of it was very dry & the bacon was so hard you couldn’t cut through it. |The pub closes at 5pm on a Sunday so this is a hotel where you can’t get anything to eat or drink after that time! We weren’t told of this when we checked in. There’s no one around in the evenings so if you had a problem or emergency you have to fend for yourself. |
Stayed in the Hayloft apartment which was great foe the 5 of us rather than paying for 3 separate rooms. Lovely village, location of hotel excellent. Apartment had all we needed, kitchen well equipped tea, coffee & biscuits provided. It was clean and tidy and bed’s comfortable. Its nothing grand but for a short stay I recommend. Lovely friendly staff and a great breakfast!!
Rooms were fine for our short stay and breakfast great.
Very friendly welcome, beautiful clean and very comfortable room. Nice and quiet location, perfect end to a perfect day with friends. Fantastic breakfast served by a very attentive team. ||Only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer! Will definitely stay at Longs next time we're in the area ????
