Nothing special about the food. The coffee was not good.
The service is fast so it's convenient if you're short of time or need and lunch pack to board the train or the coach.
Otherwise, go to Morrison's cafè. Better coffee, half price and you can refill it.
Cafe food but very nice and the staff are very friendly, oh ,and it's dog friendly, they even gave my dogs some free sausages ????
A group of 8 of us went in before we got on the Harry Potter Jacobite steam train dressed in cosplay. They took orders of some of us but refused to acknowledge and take the orders for the last two of us, no idea why. After the first four got served they asked nicely the two older women if we could get our order in and get served because we were all together and going on the train. Still they refused to acknowledge the two of us,(except for nasty stares/stink eye) take our order or serve us. But they did take the order of the next 10 or so people after us while continuing to act like we didn't exist. This was very unprofessional, uncalled for and just plain cruel and mean. In case it was an accident (which I severely doubt it because while dressed in cosplay we really stand out in a crowd) it was very politely called to their attention, and yet they still avoided correcting their mistake/acknowledging us/taking a food order/conducting a business transaction in a place of business and continued carrying out refusal of any interaction except for the nasty stares. I cried a lot and went to the lobby area and the nice lady in the gift shop was a very nice, had muffins and coffee and she took my order and fed me. No problems with anyone else in the town of Fort William serving us in Harry Potter cosplay, or on the Jacobite steam train, or in Malaig. Every business we went to,except for Lochaber Cafe, was more than welcoming and very pleased that we stopped in.
Had a panini with lentil soup. Nothing special just the ordinary. Service was fast. It was more in the expensive side of things so take note if you decide to go.
Had a tuna toastie and a haggis baked potato with side of mushrooms and a sausage roll. Cheap prices! You can also get a packaged lunch here for 6.5 pounds which is good for hiking days.
Each main came with coleslaw and salad which was great and make it extra filling. One toastie was around 3 or 4 pounds, very cheap.
The haggis was super good and some of the best I've had in Scotland so far.
Food is average. Location is beside a train station and staff are helpful and friendly.
We had already eaten breakfast so didn't expect to be so tempted. But while exiting the train station were enticed by most tantalizing aromas wafting out the door. My eyes followed my nose to a gentleman enjoying a full Scottish breakfast. I was sold. The staff were so sweet and charming adding to the enjoyment of the experience. The tables were dutifully and thoroughly cleaned after each patron and spacing observed. They also have attractively priced soup and sandwich specials for lunch if I ever go that way again.
Fabulous, delicious everything which are pastries, especially strawberry sponge with creme layer and coconut on strawberry outside asian photo. Order at counter but then table service with plentiful tables. Service is friendly family and friends.
I had battered fresh haddock with chips and green salad. Nicely thick piece of haddock with crunchy batter. Generous size of my cappuccino and macchiato.
