If you fancy hiking off the beaten path,look out for the grass path that runs parallel with the main path for the first 300 yards or so.

We are starting the walk from the telephone box by the side of Storey Arms.

The path bears off left from main path,crossing over the fence and old farm wall.Keep to this path noticing the main path on your right,you will come to the obelisk that was erected in the early 1900s for a young boy who was lost on the mountain back then ????.

You can then take in the views before deciding whether to go down to the lake via path,or connect back with the main path for the final push to the summit of Corn Du,then on to Pen y fan ????

Such a beautiful. Perfect for a swim, and a great spot to have a rest before you head the rest of the way up pen y fan.

Beautiful place under Corn du and Pen y Fan. Generally quieter than the peaks. Careful of the leeches in the pond though. Worth a visit for a picnic stop, easy but steep to get to via the path going past the Tommy memorial.

There were some folks swimming here when I walked past. I’m not sure I’d swim here though given the number of tourists trekking on the mountainside above.

Steep (ish) climb but the views make it all worth while. Cold water swimmers were making the most of the lake & beautiful day, pack a picnic & unwind!!

Iconic local location

This is simply a superb rest stop on your way up to Pen Y Fan or on your way down. Easily accessible from Nant Cwm Llwch car park which is known locally as the login. Lovely views of PYF from here and is a great bivvy site too. A popular swim stop too in the warmer weather.

Stunning views around 1.6mile from carpark, car park is free but just a bit boggy in the rain as your parking on a field, walking is a gradually climb, lovely place to wild swim.

Amazingly beautiful. We did the 14 miles walk around the Valley. 3 summits. 7 hours hard but amazing.
