We had booked in for afternoon tea yesterday for 6 people but then realised we weren't going to be able to eat in. We contacted the owner to ask if we could collect the food instead. She dropped the food over herself, and there was so much of it! The open sandwiches were as beautiful as they were delicious (fig, ham and caramelised onion was a favourite!). There were salmon croissants, sausage rolls and delicious prawn cocktail. The cake selection was incredible - far too much cake for 6 people and scones and macaroons- we have leftovers for lunch today!
Thank you so much for all your effort - slightly delayed due to circumstances beyond the owners control but we'll worth the wait. highly recommended, thanks for accommodating our change of plans. I wish I had thought to take pictures of the spread before we all tucked in- attached pictures are of the savory food only after we had eaten some. I would definitely describe it as a huge picnic rather than afternoon tea, not dainty but absolutely delicious!
We tried this restaurant for our wedding anniversary lunch and what a wonderful surprise and discovery. Excellent service from the owner and the waitress from booking our table to paying the bill. Have a look at the menu as the dishes are different to what you would expect and are absolutely delicious. Small intimate venue so advise booking. Thank you for such a brilliant meal and experience. A small little cafe off the main road of Olney, great intimate atmosphere, with a wholesome family feel. Great coffee, great food, would go again.
We visited Little Hermitage today with our two kids 6 and 4 and little dog. It was honestly one of the best lunches we’ve had in Olney in years! Staff were great and attentive and even tweaked the order to accommodate for the kids portions to share. We had the chicken kimchi burger, it was great but The French toast was out of this world delicious! Coffee and tea was brilliant and the dog even got a treat and a chat with the waitress. We Stocked up on kids presents for upcoming parties from the gift section before leaving. Small but cosy environment and good music choices. Brilliant experience. Will absolutely be visiting again. I’ll keep this simple… the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to. It feels unfair to categorise it as a coffee shop as the food is unbelievably good, I’m no Michelin star giver outerer but I’d dish a couple out to this place as the flavours of the dishes are so nice and also unique.
Menu a bit limited when I was there. However coffee was good and the friendly staff and intimate atmosphere made up for it. Enjoy.
