My wife and I visited for a Sunday lunch as a birthday treat after hearing good word-of-mouth reviews and were not disappointed.

Brilliant quality of food and value for money.

The serving staff were a credit to them also, they were highly attentive and made us feel very welcome even coming to us with an extra small dessert for our 6-month-old for whom we hadn't ordered a dessert!

10/10 - We will be returning.

We had a family Sunday lunch at The Lion in Caerhowel today, it was so, so good. I had lamb which was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were plentiful and not over cooked and soggy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, I would highly recommend The Lion for Sunday lunch.

I come here to have a drink and chat. Always a friendly atmosphere. The landlord and his daughter are both welcoming.

Reasonably priced drinks. Very cosy in the colder months with the open fire.

The Lion is a fantastic pub, very friendly and welcoming owners. Serves basket meals Fridays and Saturdays and the best roast dinners on a Sunday! They do veggie options, just ask at the bar and they will let you know what's available

Our visit was to enjoy a nice meal with friends. There was certainly no disappointment, in fact the meal was a special treat. We were seated in a dining room away from the main bar area and had the room to ourselves.||The orders were taken and we chose several different starters and main courses from the menu. The starters were great and set us up with good expectations for the main courses. The main courses arrived with the chosen meal on each plate and the vegetables were served separately so that we could help ourselves to as much or little as we wished. There was a fantastic selection of vegetables and ample quantities for the eight of us. There were also bowls of chips, enough for us but the young waiter volunteered to bring another bowl.||During the main course a further dish was brought out, Dauphinoise potatoes. This was completely unexpected but very welcome as it was delicious. I enjoyed this dish that much that I have since looked up a recipe and cooked the dish myself! I had steak which was cooked just to my liking, tender and tasty as was my wife's. The other meals looked good and were met with favorable comments. The desserts were equally as good as the rest of the dishes and coffee followed.||The service from the youngsters serving us was faultless. They were keen to ensure we had everything we needed, polite and had a friendly manner making us feel very welcome.||The cost of the entire meal was very reasonable.||The whole evening with friends was extremely enjoyable. The meal, service and hospitality complimented our experience.

We love this little gem of a pub. Always a warm welcome. 10 of us have just had our Christmas lunch their just fabulous food and plenty of it. Merry Christmas

Enjoyed Sunday lunch here today. Great food, really generous portions, well presented and all very reasonably priced. Service was really good too...what's not to like! Lovely little pub which I would highly recommend.

I visit here now & then with friends. the staff are always pleasant. Nice old fashioned dining room. The food is always plentiful and the veg is fresh and tasty. I always pick something around the veg to be honest as it's brill. IE I would be unlikely to have a curry or burger as it wouldn't go so well with the delicious veg. I had a Sunday roast here and it was splendid with lovely thick tasty meat and did I mention the veg?
