We have a very nice lunch here today! The food was fresh and delicious! There was a bit of wait earlier, but worth it! We were served pretty quickly and the food came shortly later! Would definitely return if we are in the area again! There’s limited car parking outside.
I've been here many times, and I recommend it, coffe and food are great, specially soup of the day. For a take away coffee or sat in front of the canal it's a lovely place to go. GF options are available.
Been popping in for a coffee and cake every day this week , working my way through fabulous and best selection of cakes , great view of the canal sitting outside and top friendly staff , cake is pumpkin and cinnamon slice
I had the French toast with summer berry’s off the breakfast menu, it was to die for and the portion was great. My Mum had the eggs Benedict, the eggs weren’t as runny as hoped for but tasted amazing. We had a slight issue with a half dead wasp on the window ledge but the girl that served us handled it. On another note, you have to arrive just after 9 (when the cafe opens) to get a decent parking spot as there is only a small car park out front. Would definitely recommend you try this cafe out.
Took a trip down to The Lime Kiln today after deciding which place to brunch at. It was my first time in, my partner had been before. I spied Eggs Benedict (incredibly cheap for £6.95) and was sold rather quickly. I added bacon for an extra £1.95 and the wait was on.
We were seated really quickly and a waitress came to take our order in about 10 minutes. It was really busy, so that was more than understandable! Our order was two lattes, Eggs Benedict with bacon, a Cuban sandwich and a portion of skin on fries to share - I also ordered a bottle of diet coke later on, bringing the total to an incredibly fair £29!
The food came in about a half hour, coffee came sooner. I was more than happy with what I received. The poached eggs were perfect and golden yoked, the bacon crisp and the hollandaise topped it all off.
All in all, for the cost alone, I would return to the Lime Kiln, it's amazing value for money, especially compared to some of Uppermill's more expensive eateries.
Quality food but very over priced for portion size. Price difference from the light to a large breakfast is not value for money as the only difference is mushrooms and black pudding. For the price an additional sausage and slice of bacon would be of better value. Its cost £21 for a light breakfast, a sausage butty and 2 drinks. And we both still left hungry. However i do like the atmosphere in there and the fact you can sit by the canal and staff where very friendly.
Really fantastic food always here! The setting is very lovely and tasty food and drinks. Staff are friendly and you can see why it is always so busy! Try to come for late lunch, then you will probably be luckier. We have visited many times and it never disappoints.
A beautiful friendly cafe serving up delightful meals and warming drinks. Visited today with my wife and our 2 dogs. Both had delicious homemade breakfasts, 2 pots of tea and 2 puppacinos ???? we sat out on the terrace overlooking the river as all tables were full inside. The wonderful waiter brought us some blankets to keep away the chill which was such a nice touch! We shall see you again soon.
