Lovely area to go walking, cycling or running. Tissington is mostly flat so suitable for all ages and abilities. Cycle hire and cafe and each end of the 24 mile trail. Just watch out for the Lycra clad Bradley Wiggins wannabes on their push bikes. They feel it's their god given right to ride as fast as they can even though plenty of signs to say treat other footpath users with care. What can you do with these idiots???? visit, enjoy the trail and scenery, take your litter home and have a fabulous day.
Great place to park,Toilets, bike hire and shop.We walked the trail from Ashbourne to tissington, stopped for a coffee and a snack.then continued to Alsop.
We came off the trail there and picked up the path up the hill across the top and the down in to Dovedale.Walked along the river to Thorpe.turned left at the stepping stones over the fields and rejoined the trail back to Asbourne.Great walk Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful setting and scenery. I was moaned at during various stages of our 8 mile walk I was advised to go on bikes next time from an suggestive 8 year old. Point taken. Amazing beautiful dated properties and a stunning castle at Tissington. Really nice day out. Lots of wells wildlife's and greenery to see. And a out stop to the olde sweet shoppe.
Lovely place to walk/cycle. Great views of the Peak District area. Highly recommended but get there early to get a parking spot. Park all day for less than a fiver!
Fantastic bike route. really scenic. We started at Ashbourne and it is noticeably up hill all the way to Dowlow, but well worth it and this does of course mean it's mainly down hill going home (When you need it). There are a few cafés on route so you can split the ride up if you wanted. Highly recommend this route
We wanted to walk this with our 3 dogs. It was lovely but it was ruined a little by cyclists who thought it their right to cycle at great speed rather than share. As a cyclist and walker I understand both! But that being said it's a nice flat walk with so e nice scenery and a nice concession at each end.
Great place to park & walk/cycle the Tissington old railway trail. Pay & Display, toilets, cafe. Easy walk to village with lots to see
Car park, toilets, cafe and cycle hire on the Tissington Trail, a former railway line. Car park is small but there is overflow in a field opposite and charges are reasonable. Good place for a walk or ride.
